Session Start: Sun Dec 07 01:36:00 2003
[01:36] * Cirrus manuevers the ship into the impressive, if half completed spacedock facility orbiting Perihelion. The telemetry systems take over, and there's an audiable *THUD* as the docking interface locks into place.
[01:37] <Admiral Lilwall> A LONAC space station. Better not blow this one up.
[01:37] <Waitstate> I think that's our cue to disembark...
[01:37] * Slipstream grins at Lil. "Better lay your bets now..."
[01:38] <Comet> [comm] This is going to be creepy, isn't it?
[01:38] <Admiral Lilwall> I'm dead, what would I care?
[01:38] * Admiral Lilwall gets up and moves for the exit.
[01:38] <Cirrus> [comm] Yes. Yes it is...
[01:38] * Waitstate does also.
[01:39] <Comet> [comm] Is it even safe? For the spacetime continuum or some such?
[01:39] <Lifeblood> Permission to remain aboard.
[01:39] * Slipstream seems to ponder whether she really wants to get up or not, finally decides eh, what the heck, and rises to slope lazily out behind Lil and Wait.
[01:39] <Waitstate> You sure you want to do that?
[01:39] <Cirrus> [comm] Got me. It makes my CPUs ache to think about it...
[01:40] <Comet> [comm] Captain?
[01:40] * Sunspot watches the others on the bridge nervously, uncertain what she should do.
[01:40] <Lifeblood> Affirmative. There is still work to be done aboard the Freedom, and any medical knowledge the other LONAC has access is available from shipboard computers.
[01:41] <Admiral Lilwall> Are you even slightly curious to know whether you exist in this timeline or not?
[01:42] <Comet> [comm] Captain Waitstate...?
[01:42] <Waitstate> I'm kind of glad to know the worst of it up front.
[01:42] <Waitstate> [comm] Yes Comet?
[01:42] <Admiral Lilwall> You'd probably enjoy conversing with yourself. Besides, if you're dead, you can spook the locals. *exits*
[01:43] <Comet> [comm] Have you considered the risk this venture may pose to the fabric of space-time?
[01:43] <Lifeblood> For my sake, I hope that I am not.
[01:43] * Lightning decides he doesn't want to know and stays on the bridge.
[01:43] <Waitstate> [comm] if we'd gone backwards, I'd worry.
[01:43] * Sunspot wanders over to Cirrus.
[01:44] <Waitstate> [comm] quite frankly, so far I'm not sure I want this future to happen. After all, I'm dead.
[01:44] <Comet> [comm] Well, if we try to alter time so that our fate does not become theirs, we may create a paradox...
[01:45] <Waitstate> [comm] Your point?
[01:45] <Comet> [comm] What good would come of that?
[01:46] <Admiral Lilwall> [comm] Given that we're in this time frame at all, I'd say something somewhere got messed up. Can't do a lot about it now, we'll just have to deal with things as they happen.
[01:46] <Waitstate> [comm] A better question is, what bad? I've heard about enough time travel phenomina to know it was too confusing and contradictory to worry about.
[01:47] <Comet> [comm] I really have no answer for that. I guess I really just wanted to be sure you knew of the possibility. My apologies, Captain.
[01:47] * Admiral Lilwall continues on towards an airlock.
[01:48] <Sunspot> Cirrus? Are you gonna go down, too?
[01:48] <Waitstate> [comm] I suppose it's your job. But meanwhile, lighten up, kid. This is a weird enough situation as it is.
[01:48] <Comet> [comm] Yes sir.
[01:48] <Cirrus> I dunno. It sounds pretty weird, y'know? But cool, sorta.
[01:48] <Comet> [comm] I mean... uh... y'know.
[01:49] <Sunspot> What do you think it'll be like?
[01:49] * Comet becomes very nervous.
[01:50] * Rackham, Restore and Goannis arrive at the airlock around the same time Lilwall does.
[01:50] <Admiral Lilwall> Word travels fast.
[01:50] * Apocrypha is headed down, as well.
[01:50] <Restore> On this ship? Never.
[01:50] <Cirrus> Uhh... futurey? And a little creepy, considering that half the city is made of this ship. O_o
[01:51] * Solder looks for something to help him decide.
[01:51] <Restore> I can't wait to see the level of technology here though, do we know just how far ahead we've jumped?
[01:52] <Comet> [comm] I wonder what's happened to the Powermasters...
[01:52] <Admiral Lilwall> If we do, I wasn't listening at the time.
[01:52] <Waitstate> Comet reported it was around 100 years. The local computer network confirms it.
[01:53] <Waitstate> Not, um, that I was poking around it or anything. Heh.
[01:53] <Rackham> *turning to see Wait arrive* Things couldn't have changed that much in 100 years could it?
[01:54] * Solder arrives at the airlock.
[01:54] <Waitstate> On a new colony? Yeah, I'd think it could
[01:54] <Solder> Well, if they're at war...
[01:55] <Waitstate> This isn't Cybertron, after all
[01:55] <Goannis> But this world was so isolated..
[01:56] * Admiral Lilwall keys the airlock open and steps through.
[01:56] <Waitstate> "Was" being the operative word.
[01:56] * Waitstate follows behind, continuing his conversation.
[01:56] * Restore, Goannis and Rackham follow through also.
[01:56] <Waitstate> Did you see the settlement down there?
[01:56] * Solder follows.
[01:56] <Waitstate> It's not too big as far as colonies go I suppose, but it's very active.
[01:57] * Slipstream slopes along lazily behind the others, looking around with vague curiosity.
[01:57] <Rackham> Check this place out... *motioning to the space dock they've entered*
[01:57] <Waitstate> It may have been a tragedy that jumpstarted things, but they seem to have bounced back with gusto.
[01:58] <Solder> Hn. Miss Restore, was it alright to leave just Lifeblood in charge of Medical? He's a little... stale, if ya know what I mean...
[01:58] * Waitstate admires the construction.
[01:59] <Restore> He certainly is. I wouldn't worry though, he's taken charge of medbay many times before.
[02:00] <Waitstate> Actually... I'm having a bit of trouble poking around in the computers here. If I wasn't, erm, dead I'd say I'd built them.
[02:00] <Admiral Lilwall> If thats the case I'd imagine Bit survived.
[02:01] <Admiral Lilwall> Not to mention they had expected us to arrive one day, and it's a hundred years into the future. I guess security has had a few improvments along the way.
[02:02] <Rackham> They haven't made corridors any shorter.
[02:02] <Waitstate> If it was Bit, he had help. He's good, but he's never been the most creative programmer.
[02:02] <Sunspot> I think I'm gonna go down there, Cirrus. I'll call Avy and see if he wants to come, too.
[02:02] <Restore> Yeah, where's the welcome wagon?
[02:02] <Cirrus> Alrighty. I don't think I wanna though
[02:05] * Admiral-Lilwall stops.
[02:05] [narration] As if on cue, Overwrite comes rushing around the corridor, Crevas skidding right behind him, carrying a small pile of pads.
[02:06] * Crevas zooms past Overwrite and up to the group, only just stopping in time. the datapads he's carrying go flying.
[02:07] <Overwrite> I'm sorry! It's a bit of a walk to get to the transfer port up to the station from my office, and of course there are always a million things to do-- Welcome. *smiles*
[02:07] * Crevas beeps and jitters with extreme glee at the sight of old friends.
[02:07] <Sunspot> [comm] Hey, Avy? There's some weird stuff going on, wanna meet me down by the main airlock?
[02:07] <Overwrite> Crevas! You know better!
[02:07] * Overwrite leans over and starts gathering the scattered pads
[02:07] * Crevas zips back behind Overwrite.
[02:07] * Crevas continues to beep excitedly.
[02:07] <Avalanche> [comm] Um...okay, sure. I'll be down in a few minutes...
[02:07] <Comet> [comm] I guess I'm not going, either.
[02:08] <Solder> Weirdies.
[02:08] <Overwrite> I've assembled a collection of maps and general info for you all. I, um, wasn't sure how many were coming. If you don't mind sharing til I make more?
[02:08] * Overwrite starts trying to pass them out.
[02:08] <Restore> Nice upgrade, OW
[02:09] <Overwrite> What? Oh, oh yes. Thank you Commander. It seemed like a proper thing to do...
[02:09] <Rackham> Never met the old you before, but hi. I'm Rackham.
[02:10] <Overwrite> Um, yes, hello. *offers a hand* I think I met you, um, briefly.
[02:12] <Rackham> oh.
[02:12] <Rackham> Breifly?
[02:12] <Rackham> Wait a second...
[02:13] * Overwrite shuffles and tries to change the subject.
[02:13] <Rackham> Am I... well..
[02:13] <Overwrite> Doctor, it's good to see you agai- oh my. This isn't going well at all.
[02:14] <Restore> Well, I can't say I'm fine with knowing that, but I think I'll get by for the time being. Erm, during the crash?
[02:15] <Overwrite> Yes. I'm sorry
[02:16] <Goannis> *meekly, holding up a hand* me?
[02:16] <Overwrite> *brightens* You've become quite successful, miss. I see you often :)
[02:17] * Goannis sighs quite loudly.
[02:17] <Admiral Lilwall> Ahem. Let's move on, shall we?
[02:18] <Overwrite> This is far more awkward than I imagined it would be.
[02:18] <Admiral Lilwall> Go figure. So, let's go see what everyone has been up to.
[02:19] <Overwrite> Yes, of course. The transfer gate is just this way. *gestures, and leads the way*
[02:20] * Admiral Lilwall follows with the others.
[02:20] * Solder follows, too.
[02:22] * Admiral Lilwall observes the map.
[02:22] * Overwrite leads the group to a room with an impressive view of the planet, and an odd alcove off to the side.
[02:22] <Admiral Lilwall> 'Haven' eh? Big place by the looks.
[02:22] * Solder looks over the map he was handed.
[02:23] <Solder> Heh heh. Wonder where I am. Heh! I made a funny...
[02:23] <Rackham> Whats that thingy over there? *pointing to the thing off to the side*
[02:24] * Overwrite motions everyone into the alcove.
[02:24] <Overwrite> The way down
[02:24] <Admiral Lilwall> When did you get space flight abilities, OW?
[02:24] <Overwrite> Sir?
[02:24] <Restore> Well, it's a long way down after all.
[02:25] <Overwrite> Ah, I see.
[02:25] <Overwrite> Please, just step inside everyone?
[02:26] <Rackham> inside what? The vaccuum? I can't fly you know.
[02:27] <Solder> I can't either...
[02:27] * Overwrite looks to Waitstate pleadingly.
[02:27] * Admiral Lilwall shrugs and moves into the alcove.
[02:27] <Waitstate> He seems to know what he's doing.
[02:27] * Waitstate steps in.
[02:28] * Crevas zooms into the alcove also.
[02:28] * Restore and Goannis step in. Rackham cautiously enters after them.
[02:29] * Overwrite waits for everyone to step in, and then presses a button. A forcefield snaps into place at the entrance.
[02:29] * Apocrypha looks down nervously.
[02:30] <Rackham> I think I need to hang onto something.
[02:30] * Solder fidgets.
[02:30] [narration] The alcove is rounded and smooth. There's nothing to hold on to. Even the control panel is flat against the wall.
[02:31] [narration] A loud hum builds up, and then there's a beep and a flash of light. When it fades, the forcefield shuts down.
[02:31] <Overwrite> Welcome to Haven, everyone.
[02:31] <Goannis> um.. did it break?
[02:32] * Overwrite steps out confidently, Crevas zooming on ahead.
[02:32] <Restore> But we're still on the *exits* station?
[02:32] <Restore> How?
[02:32] * Waitstate follows, confused as the rest.
[02:33] <Solder> Does everyone know we're comin'?
[02:33] <Admiral Lilwall> Ok, that does it.
[02:33] <Overwrite> You're not. *gestures to the surroundings, which have changed dramatically. The room still has a large window though, showing lush greenery and gleaming metal outside*
[02:33] <Admiral Lilwall> Waitstate, we're getting somethign cool added to the ship BEFORE we die.
[02:34] <Goannis> How did we get planetside?
[02:34] <Overwrite> It's a modified space bridge technology. It's only short range, and requires a line of sight connection between two stations. But it beats shuttlecraft.
[02:36] <Restore> Incredible.
[02:36] <Rackham> I have no idea what you just said, but you can pretend I did.
[02:37] <Solder> Huh.
[02:37] <Waitstate> Trust me, it made sense. But I also agree it's pretty incredible. Last I checked, the power requirements for any type of space bridge were immense.
[02:37] <Solder> You don't know what a space bridge is?!
[02:37] <Solder> Have you been under a rock the last centuries?
[02:38] * Admiral Lilwall looks around at the surrounding enviroment and the bots that inhabit it.
[02:38] <Rackham> I ain't been anywhere near Cybertron for centuries, YOU GOTTA PROBLEM WITH THAT??!
[02:39] <Waitstate> Cool it!
[02:39] <Rackham> Sorry boss.
[02:39] <Solder> Heh, cool down, kid. Sorry, boss.
[02:40] <Restore> I shouldn't be surprised, but I don't recognise anyone walking around here.
[02:41] <Overwrite> We've had quite a bit of growth since... then.
[02:41] <Goannis> I'm not sure I WANT to see anyone I recognise...
[02:41] [narration] A yellow and blue robot hurriedly cuts through the crowd.
[02:42] <Future Comet> 'Scuse me, coming through... excuse me... pardon me... uh...
[02:42] [narration] A largish blue and black bot follows behind the future Comet*
[02:42] * Waitstate doubletakes.
[02:42] <Future Comet> Have to get back to the lab... too crowded...
[02:43] * Admiral Lilwall rubs his head for moment.
[02:43] * Comet glances up above, then leaps into the air, transforms and flies away.
[02:43] <Restore> Hey, Comet!
[02:44] <Solder> I, ah, think ya missed him, Miss Restore...
[02:44] <Restore> Nevermind then I guess.
[02:44] [narration] The blue bot hears Restore instead and stares at the group for a moment.
[02:44] <Solder> Was that really the kid?
[02:45] <Restore> Looked like it.
[02:45] <Waitstate> Sounded like him too.
[02:45] <Goannis> Well whoever that one is, *pointing to the staring bot* they seem to know us.
[02:45] <Solder> Huh.
[02:46] <Admiral Lilwall> Never seen him before though
[02:46] [narration] The bot approaches the landing party.
[02:47] <Waitstate> Overwrite, has the general public been told we're here?
[02:47] <Overwrite> Well, some have noticed, yes.
[02:47] * Admiral Lilwall rubs his head again.
[02:48] <bot> getting a headache?
[02:48] * Admiral Lilwall jolts to attention and steps back, hearing his own voice.
[02:48] * Waitstate jolts slightly as well.
[02:48] <Admiral Lilwall> Ok, now things are creepy.
[02:49] <Restore> Overwrite, I thought..
[02:49] <bot> Oh, he is. But I'm not him. Not entirly, anyway
[02:49] * Comet flies back towards the party, and lands in robot mode.
[02:49] <Comet> Did somebody call me?
[02:50] <General> You guys usd to call me Aries, but now I go by General.
[02:50] <Admiral Lilwall> Yes. A headache.
[02:50] [narration] A familiarly yellow but unfamiliarly well-armed bot stands a bit shyly to the edge of where everybody's started gathering.
[02:50] <Admiral Lilwall> What happened to you?
[02:50] * Waitstate goes back and forth between Comet and General, trying to figure which one is more odd.
[02:51] <Comet> Beg pardo... ADMIRAL?!
[02:51] * Comet double-takes.
[02:52] <General> Your headache will be that wonderful little mental link returning. Restore always thought she'd gotten rid of it, but she.. well, *looking down to Restore* you, never did.
[02:52] <Restore> But... I did.
[02:52] <Waitstate> I imagine it was hard to tell. If I'm reading the situation right.
[02:52] * Admiral Lilwall pushes Waitstate infront of future Comet so he can focus on his own issues.
[02:53] <Comet> ....C-Captain....
[02:53] <Waitstate> Yeah Comet, it's me.
[02:54] <Admiral Lilwall> *more rigid and trying to sound disconcerned* Whats with the new get-up, then?
[02:54] <Comet> I... I don't understand...
[02:54] <Comet> ...and you... and you... and you...
[02:55] * Comet points at every member of the party in succession.
[02:55] <General> After you died, the link really WAS severed. It was such a shock to my system that my body was mostly destroyed. This form was constructed for me some time later.
[02:55] <Goannis> Hey, I'm still alive, remember?
[02:57] <General> You and I are kind of the same now, mentally speaking. I adopted the new name accordingly.
[02:57] <Restore> I get it, when you were created at that comet, it was like a part of AL's personality was split off from the rest of him, and when he died, most of him went to you.
[02:58] <General> Yes.
[02:58] <Overwrite> Comet, you of all people should know what day it is. Think about it.
[02:58] <Admiral Lilwall> Right. Ok. Great.
[02:58] [narration] The yellow bot watching on the sidelines walks up next to the aghast Comet.
[02:58] <Future Sunspot> What's going on here?
[02:59] <Comet> L-look at them, Sunspot...
[02:59] <Waitstate> Whoa, Sunspot? When'd you take up assult weapons as a hobby?
[02:59] <Restore> Look at us? Look at YOU! *noting the weapons all over Sunspot's body*
[03:00] <Sunspot> When I had to start helping protect everybody here.
[03:00] <Sunspot> We've had to defend ourselves without the mobility of the Freedom. It's not been easy.
[03:00] <Comet> I've been a bit distracted, Overwrite. I think I missed a memo..?
[03:00] <General> Perhaps you'd like to be shown around the city, Admiral?
[03:01] <Comet> I've been so holed up in my lab lately...
[03:01] <Admiral Lilwall> No, not really.
[03:01] <General> Tough. Come on, follow me. *transforms to a bomber craft and flies off into the air*
[03:02] <Restore> He IS more like you.
[03:02] * Admiral Lilwall shoots Restore a look before shifting to figher mode and following General.
[03:02] <Sunspot> You've verified them, Overwrite? They really...they really are...them?
[03:05] <Overwrite> Well, it's the right day and they have the right ship. I've verified it as best I can without subjecting them to a medical scan.
[03:05] <Rackham> I think us acting weird around everyone is proof enough, eh?
[03:06] <Rackham> Good to see the likes of you surviving though.
[03:06] <Rackham> You two haven't hated me since i joined.
[03:07] <Sunspot> Eh heh... Well, you know, it hasn't been easy building up the colony...
[03:07] <Waitstate> I did notice the rather impressive defense systems.
[03:08] <Comet> Oh, uh...
[03:08] * Comet throws a glance at Sunspot.
[03:08] <Comet> It, uh, is a bit different these days. Even I carry a pistol now...
[03:08] <Sunspot> Yes, the defense systems... Recoil and I put in a lot of very long nights getting this place defensible.
[03:09] * Comet gestures at the gun magnalocked to his leg.
[03:09] <Rackham> Hey, if Overwrite met me, then it means I survived the crash.
[03:10] <Rackham> So what'd I do? Fall off a cliff or something?
[03:10] * Overwrite doesnt look at Rackham.
[03:10] * Sunspot takes the weapons tangent and runs.
[03:10] <Rackham> Like I said, you know, I can't fly an all.
[03:11] * Comet doesn't, either.
[03:11] <Sunspot> Once the settlement started actually propsering, well, there are quite a few little factions who wanted to get their hands on us. And, well, some of our better fighters didn't make it through the crash...
[03:11] <Comet> I, um, really have to get back to my lab...
[03:11] <Rackham> Um, hello?
[03:11] <Comet> Business to check on, and all...
[03:12] <Overwrite> You have to understand, things were very rough right after the crash...
[03:12] <Comet> So if you'll all excuse me...?
[03:12] <Rackham> What? I really did fall of a cliff? How embarressing.
[03:13] <Overwrite> No.. *glances at the two small bots in the room*
[03:14] * Sunspot takes Waitstate aside and starts pointing out some of the finer points of the defense system.
[03:14] <Rackham> What? you're making me nervous here.
[03:14] <Overwrite> Noone really trusted you. You'd been with those pirates after all!
[03:14] <Solder> C'mon, guys. Spill it!
[03:15] <Restore> What are you saying, that the crew turned on him?
[03:15] <Solder> ...I didn't mean LITERALLY...
[03:15] <Overwrite> Sad to say, yes. We didn't quite what had happened. Some of us suspected... sabotage
[03:15] <Rackham> Turned on me? What, like attacked me..?
[03:16] <Rackham> You.. you thought I did this?
[03:16] * Comet wears a solemn expression.
[03:16] <Rackham> Why would I do this? Wait, what happened to me?
[03:16] <Rackham> Just say it!
[03:17] <Comet> I... I'm sorry, Rackham. We were... crazed. Caught up in our emotions...
[03:17] <Overwrite> Not everyone. Just... enough. Everyone regretted it. We recycled you with honors. There's a small monument in the square.
[03:17] <Restore> Primus.
[03:18] * Solder would be standing mouth agape, but he has no mouth. Much less a face.
[03:18] <Goannis> Rackham, I.. uh...
[03:18] <Rackham> It's ok. I'm a big bot. I can handle it, ya know?
[03:18] <Comet> I really need to go... I've work to do, and I'm supposed to meet Cirrus later...
[03:18] * Rackham reenters the alcove.
[03:19] <Rackham> How.. how do I get back?
[03:19] <Rackham> I don't belong here.
[03:19] <Comet> I'll see you all soon...
[03:19] * Comet transforms and flies away.
[03:19] <Overwrite> Erm, just press the red button.
[03:19] * Rackham is transported back to the space dock a few moments later.
[03:19] <Solder> Hey, pegleg! Don't be runnin' off just yet!
[03:20] <Solder> Darnit. Missed'em.
[03:21] <Solder> So!
[03:21] <Solder> What else did we miss?
[03:21] <Goannis> So! Show us around, Overwrite?
[03:22] <Goannis> What does LONAC do these days?
[03:23] <Sunspot> We thrive, and we protect ourselves from getting dragged back into war.
[03:24] <Restore> I suppose then the Autobots and Decepticons are still hard at it?
[03:24] <Restore> Not that it'd be a surprise.
[03:25] <Sunspot> Naturally.
[03:25] <Restore> So, I assume this city has a medical center of some kind?
[03:26] <Solder> I'd hope so! Elsewise it means we're dead!
[03:26] * Restore checks her map to locate the med place.
[03:26] <Restore> I'd love to go and see it, who's in charge of that area these days?
[03:27] <Restore> Did any of the other medical staff survive the crash?
[03:27] <Overwrite> Solder, though he's been of limited help. And Lifeblood.
[03:28] <Overwrite> Luckily, there's no shortage of assistance. We've become a minor trade port, thanks to a few other worlds out further than we are from the inner rim.
[03:31] <Solder> Limited help!
[03:31] <Solder> Limited help?!
[03:32] <Solder> Whaddya mean limited help?
[03:32] <Overwrite> I think you'd be proud of us. We've grown large enough to warrent a small spacefleet. The Liberty and the Independance are both out on missions at the moment, and the Victory Arrow is under construction in orbit. It will be the first in a tactical task force.
[03:33] <Overwrite> I'm very sorry, doctor. Your own medical condition has deteriorated greatly over the years. Unrelated to the crash, as far as any of us know. You aren't the most social among us. Your current self I mean.
[03:33] <Solder> Well, tarnished hides that is...
[03:34] <Sunspot> You and the medstaff managed some decent enough upgrades on the survivors here, at least...
[03:34] <Waitstate> Pardon me, ships?
[03:34] <Solder> The kid looked all grown up... and a lot of the rest of you, too...
[03:34] <Restore> Well, I think I'm going to go and check it out *starts walking in the direction of the hospital*
[03:35] [narration] another blue bot rushes up to Overwrite, he looks identical to Fragment, but is blue and black rather than green and grey.
[03:35] <Overwrite> Yes sir. Two updated Freedom class vessels, based on your original design. The Victory Arrow is a Minchiva-class medium battlecruiser.
[03:35] <Hi-Res> Sorry I'm late!
[03:36] * Crevas beeps rudely at Hi-Res.
[03:36] <Overwrite> Young man, we have visitors. Special ones. Show some manners.
[03:37] <Hi-Res> Hey Solder, what are you doing so far from the hospital? And calm down big bro, Afterimage already told me they'd arrived.
[03:37] <Hi-Res> I was out shopping with Mintyra, I lost track of time.
[03:38] <Solder> I don' follow...?
[03:38] * Waitstate blinks at all the new names.
[03:38] <Goannis> I think you're confused, erm, Blue Fragment?
[03:38] <Hi-Res> Goannis, I think you've been... oh wait a second
[03:39] <Hi-Res> *laughs* Sorry! I knew you were visitors, but I forgot not all of you were dead bots walking!
[03:39] <Solder> ...I have to stay IN THE HOSPITAL?!
[03:39] * Solder emits a few stray sparks.
[03:40] <Hi-Res> Duh, you work there. You almost NEVER leave.
[03:40] <Hi-Res> Wow, he was always like that?
[03:40] <Solder> ...oh. Well, Overwrite said... and... uh... eh-heh.
[03:41] <Hi-Res> I always thought you were jokin', bro!
[03:41] <Goannis> So what about Fragment? Is he... around?
[03:42] <Hi-Res> Oh yeah, he ain't dead. Ask the femmbots, they can back that up, heh!
[03:43] <Hi-Res> No doubt by now he's been kicked off the Liberty for some prank
[03:44] <Waitstate> So tell me about this new ship?
[03:44] <Waitstate> I take it Dark Star is still around.
[03:45] <Apocrypha> What else has happened in a hundred years?
[03:45] <Apocrypha> Is this the same particular Autobot-Decepticon War we just left?
[03:45] * Slipstream is still tagging along behind the group somewhere, absently listening in but not saying much of anything. Everyone is spared her cynical remarks for now, yay. ;)
[03:45] <Apocrypha> Who's in charge?
[03:45] <Overwrite> Indeed, it's his project. Everyone, let's move out into the city proper. You can see our progress much better from there.
[03:45] <Apocrypha> What else has happened?
[03:46] * Restore moves into the hospital.
[03:46] * Overwrite leads people on outside.
[03:47] <Overwrite> From my understanding, the Cybertronian war never really has stopped. However, Galvatron was killed about 15 years ago by Optimus Prime. I believe someone named Thunderwing leads the Decepticons now.
[03:48] <Apocrypha> The Ultracons used to have a saying.
[03:48] <Apocrypha> "The more things transform, the less they change."
[03:48] * Restore moves up to the front desk and asks the bot behind it to see Solder or Lifeblood.
[03:49] <deskbot> they are very busy, you can't just walk into and have a chat.
[03:49] [narration] The group moves on outside, revealing a not-quite-Earth blue sky and plenty of vegetation interspersed amongst the Cybertronian archetecture.
[03:50] <Restore> Tell them Doctor Restore is here to see them. And if you have issues with it, you can talk to Overwrite about them.
[03:51] <deskbot> *checks the date* Oh my...
[03:51] <deskbot> One moment please.
[03:51] <Solder> Huh. Squishies.
[03:51] <Solder> Hey, what happened to the Powermasters?
[03:52] <deskbot> [comm] Dr Solder, Dr Lifeblood, there's a Dr Restore here to see you...
[03:52] <deskbot> [comm] I think it's.. THAT Dr Restore...
[03:52] <Overwrite> Some survived. Some didn't. Some were something inbetween. Like so many things, It's complicated
[03:53] <Solder> [comm] I'll be there... zzzsssshortly....
[03:53] * Goannis follows Wait and Overwrite and whoever is there.
[03:54] * Lifeblood walks out to the desk. He looks exactly like he looked a hundred years ago.
[03:54] <deskbot> Will you be wishing to see Dr Autumn as well?
[03:54] <Lifeblood> Doctor Restore.
[03:54] <Restore> *Doctor* Autumn?
[03:55] <Lifeblood> As your physician, I am afraid to inform you that you have no more than minus one hundred years to live.
[03:55] <Restore> Lifeblood! You haven't changed at all! I don't know whether to be happy or sad about that.
[03:55] * Slipstream continues to tail along behind the rest of the group, looking around lazily. Interesting.
[03:56] <Restore> I guess frightened is the way then... Did you just make a *joke*?
[03:56] * Sunspot sticks with the rest of the group to keep a constant assessment of their security risk.
[03:56] <Lifeblood> Never.
[03:56] <Lifeblood> It is good to see you again.
[03:56] <Restore> I would say the same, but well.. I saw you 30 minutes ago.
[03:57] <Restore> I'm glad someone with your medical expertise survived, at least.
[03:57] * Goannis turns to Sunspot.
[03:57] * Solder slowly walks out to the desk. He moves sluggishly and looks as though he's been stripped bare, possessing only equipment essential to life and work. There are no traces of a transformation ability.
[03:57] <Solder> Doctor... Restore? Can it be?
[03:57] <Goannis> So.. the Freedom's security team, Cuffs and the others, did they survive?
[03:58] <Restore> Solder! How are you?
[03:58] <Lifeblood> The medical staff initially took few casualties. Mercifully for the staff and patients, medbay took little of the brunt of the crash.
[03:58] <Restore> You look... good!
[03:58] <Sunspot> Not...many. Most of them were...busy trying to get everybody else to safety...
[03:58] * Sunspot looks away.
[03:59] <Goannis> Who is incharge now then? Or is that you?
[03:59] <Restore> What of Welder? I haven't heard yet,
[03:59] <Solder> Feelin' a bit up there in the chassis. Rassin'frassin' Lifey 'ere still thinks I can't fix myself, so he comes in when I'm rechargin' an' sabotages me s'more. Not a spark believes me, though.
[04:00] <Sunspot> Recoil and I do most of the security detail these days. A handful of the staff left on the new ships. It was rough at first, but most of what we have to worry about now is just pirates.
[04:01] <Restore> Heh, same old Solder. You know, you're also getting the grand tour with Waitstate and Overwrite at the moment.
[04:01] <Solder> ...
[04:02] <Solder> Bu... but I'm right here! And Waitstate's dead.
[04:02] <Solder> And Overwrite's.... not here.
[04:02] <Lifeblood> Welder is in command of medical aboard the Liberty.
[04:02] <Lifeblood> He performs more than adequately, despite his initial objections.
[04:02] * Slipstream listens with interest to what Sunspot's saying, but remains quiet.
[04:03] <Solder> Oh, heh. Is it that memorial day when everyone gets delusio... wait. Doctor Restore, where did you come from? Aren't you long-lost?
[04:04] <Restore> Took a joyride through time, the Freedom and the whole crew are here.
[04:04] <Restore> Most of us are still on the ship though.
[04:05] <Restore> The desk bot mentioned a Dr Autumn, she didn't mean, Autumn Beauty did she?
[04:05] <Solder> I see.
[04:05] <Solder> I b'lieve she did!
[04:06] <Restore> Autumn Beauty, a doctor...
[04:06] <Lifeblood> We were in need of neurological personnel.
[04:06] * Restore is in awe at the idea of Neurosurgeon Autumn.
[04:07] * Admiral Lilwall spots Waitstate and go and flies down to them, shifting to robot to land when he's close enough.
[04:08] <Waitstate> Lil! We have a slagging /fleet/!
[04:08] <Admiral Lilwall> You have got to see the space port they're building, Waitstate.
[04:08] <Restore> So boys, tell me, what kind of medical advances do we have 100 years in the future?
[04:08] <Waitstate> heh, I guess those two kind of go together.
[04:09] <Admiral Lilwall> We do?
[04:09] <Solder> Well, seein' as Lifey 'ere still lacks a personality, I'd say little to none... heh heh!
[04:09] * Solder weakly slaps Lifeblood on the back.
[04:09] <Lifeblood> Indeed.
[04:10] <Lifeblood> Nothing groundbreaking.
[04:10] <Waitstate> Yeah. Two out on missions, one being built in orbit. You'll never guess who's in charge up there, either.
[04:10] * Future Comet flies overhead Waitstate and Lilwall, then circles around and lands.
[04:10] <Future Comet> Hello, Sirs. I freed up some time and though it might be okay if I tagged along also?
[04:10] * Comet looks toward Sunspot for permission.
[04:10] <Lifeblood> Afflictions have come and gone, cures and treatments developed.
[04:10] <Lifeblood> Self-repair functionality has been improved most substantially.
[04:10] <Restore> Well how about a tour then? How are the facilities here?
[04:11] <Admiral Lilwall> I'll give it a go, Autumn?
[04:11] <Sunspot> He's fine.
[04:11] <Waitstate> Heh, hi Comet. I see you never did take my advice /:)
[04:11] <Comet> Beg pardon?
[04:11] <Sunspot> Glad to see you could pull yourself away from work for this, Comet.
[04:12] <Lifeblood> Certainly. Would you like to see our theatres or the stay quarters?
[04:12] <Comet> It's been a slow day.
[04:12] <Restore> Let's start with whatever's closest?
[04:12] <Waitstate> Comet, lighten up! heh.
[04:13] <Waitstate> And no Lil, not even close.
[04:13] <Comet> Oh, heh. Well, I like to think I have a bit...
[04:13] [narration] High above the planet, up past even the station where the Freedom is docked and out of sensor range, a sleek, dangerous-looking dark shape orbits, barely visible against the black backdrop of space. With a sudden dip of one lasercannon-adorned wing and a bright blue flare of engines, the starfighter dives towards the station...
[04:13] <Lifeblood> We will head upstairs to the permanent residencies, then.
[04:13] [narration] The station's automated defences spring to life, opening fire on the sleek black shape as it circles the station at almost ludicrous speeds, somehow managing to avoid all the firepower as it suddenly dives planetwards. Zoom!
[04:13] <Admiral Lilwall> Really? It was worth a shot. Goannis owns the NG now afterall. And I ran into Opal, she'd come say hi, but she's got meeting to attend.
[04:13] [narration] Planetside, the defences there also power up, spraying firepower upwards towards the rapidly descending starfighter flashing through the upper atmosphere like a meteor on crack. It twists and dodges, diving towards the city at several times the speed of sound.
[04:14] <Comet> (between the two of us, though, I worry about Sunspot. I think you know more than I, she wasn't always so serious. I mean, granted, we all took this pretty hard, but...)
[04:14] [narration] Alarms blare their warnings as the starfighter descends, then suddenly pulls out of its dive a few hundred feet above the uppermost levels of the city, eerily silent, and flashes away in a blur of black. A few moments later the crescendoing roar of its engines crashes by overhead like a breaking wave, almost drowning out the alarms.
[04:14] <Lifeblood> There are currently twenty, but we have never had more than nine occupied simultaneously.
[04:14] * Sunspot gets an alarm and uses her binocular visor to tie in to the weapons systems.
[04:15] * Restore follows Lifeblood and Solder.
[04:15] * Sunspot scowls.
[04:15] <Sunspot> Gngh, she ALWAYS does this...
[04:15] <Admiral Lilwall> What the pit is that racket?!
[04:16] <Goannis> nevermind the noise, did you say I'm running the NG?
[04:16] * Slipstream looks up, frowning slightly, then looks to Sunspot.
[04:16] * Waitstate watches upward.
[04:16] <Waitstate> Should we be worried?
[04:16] <Goannis> I'm running the NG... wow..
[04:17] * Sunspot remains focused on the tactical readouts inside her visor, watching skyward.
[04:17] <Comet> All that radiation interferes with my transmissions...
[04:17] <Restore> What are their inflictions?
[04:17] [narration] Without warning the alarms and defences cut out, as if a switch was flicked, even as the dark starfighter circles around at a more moderate speed and drops in towards the others. It hovers to a halt somewhere overhead, then the engines flicker out as it transforms and lands neatly off to one side before approaching Sunspot with a long, firm stride.
[04:17] <Lifeblood> The four current residents are three psychological cases and one physical. Of them, I believe you know one.
[04:18] <Sunspot> I swear, one of these days you're going to break something...
[04:18] <Restore> Oh?
[04:19] <Comet> She'll break my slaggin' income... Can you PLEASE clip her wings?
[04:19] <Goannis> Did you hear that Waitstate? I get the bar after you die! :D
[04:19] [narration] The starfighter is, by all appearances, a much taller, beefed up version of Slipstream. Upgraded engines, laser cannons, the works, and still slim, sleek and leggy. She snaps off a lazy salute to Sunspot as she comes to a halt, grinning faintly. "Eh, maybe. Station defences eighteen-B, thirteen A through to C and fifteen-G are tracking slowly, should get that fixed..."
[04:19] <Waitstate> You are a morbid little bot, you know that?
[04:19] <Goannis> Huh?
[04:20] <Goannis> OH!
[04:20] <Goannis> Erm, heh.
[04:20] <Admiral Lilwall> Slipstream. You get manly.
[04:20] <Lifeblood> This is Swallowtail. She fell ill with some kind of crippling hallucinations shortly after joining us. Treatment has thus far been ineffective, and she remains here for her own safety.
[04:20] * Restore observes.
[04:21] <Slipstream> "Also, some of the planet defences are a little off on their targeting. Thirty-two-L is off to the right by about three degrees..." She blinks slightly and turns to eye Lilwall for a moment. "Don't make me hurt you, Lil," she remarks lazily, still grinning slightly.
[04:21] * Sunspot sighs and grudgingly records some notes. "Just you watch, one day you're gonna come blazing in here like that and we'll have everything tuned perfectly and you'll get a little more than you bargained for..."
[04:21] <Admiral Lilwall> Good to know at least some bots don't care if we're dead, eh? Heh.
[04:21] * Future Solder has long since clanked back off to work elsewhere.
[04:23] * Waitstate whispers to Sunspot. "Has she cracked?"
[04:23] <Admiral Lilwall> Yeah, so Opal can't come say hi. And I give up, who's running the shipyard?
[04:23] * The future Slipstream just shrugs and chuckles at Sunspot. "And when that day comes, y'won't need me testin' it all out for ya anymore now, will ya?" She hands the yellow bot a datapad she unsubs. "This has got the rest of the info for those targeting systems on it. I should go talk to Recoil now." She then just eyes Waitstate for a moment. "Cracked? You betchya. And how." And with that, she's gone. Zoom!
[04:23] <Sunspot> I don't think I realized that this was a major departure from the norm...
[04:24] * Waitstate shakes his head.
[04:24] <Goannis> You'd think she'd at least say hi to herself.
[04:24] <Waitstate> Anyway, yeah. Shipyards.
[04:24] * Slipstream just blinks slightly, having watched the entire thing with mild, lazy interest. Finally, she just remarks, "Cool."
[04:24] <Waitstate> It's Dark Star, of all people
[04:24] <Goannis> Speaking of which, I'm going to go scare myself stupid! *takes out her map and goes in search of the NG*
[04:24] * Slipstream then turns to Goannis and grins, tapping the side of her head. "She did."
[04:24] <Lifeblood> In the next room is Watchglass. He was formerly of our staff here, before succumbing to a pathological fear of practicing medicine. We suspect it to be related to an outbreak of RDSS aboard the spacedock. He hopes to eventually rejoin us, but it is more likely that we will convince him to retrain for another job, thus sparing him the stress of constant exposure to his phobia.
[04:25] <Restore> A terrible fate for any medic...
[04:25] <Lifeblood> Down the hall is Panelbeater, who if I am not mistaken was a contemporary of yours.
[04:26] <Restore> Panelbeater... one of our earliest comrades..
[04:26] <Restore> What happened?
[04:27] <Lifeblood> An unfortunate casualty of the crash. His neural net was damaged extensively. He retains basic functionality, but all higher processes have been destroyed.
[04:27] <Restore> So sad, he designed and constructed so many features on the Freedom, and no doubt he must have had extensive work on this colony in it's younger days...
[04:27] <Hi-Res> Heh! If you think it's weird Dark Star is running a shipyard, you'll just go offline when you find out Autumn is a neurosurgeon!
[04:27] <Waitstate> wow... things have definitely changed
