Session Start: Sun Jun 22 01:14:00 2003 EST
[01:00] <AIan> Last time, Solder and the kids were attacked by the Ghost of LONAC not-so-Past in the launch bay. Sunspot was very disappointed in the mess made.
[01:01] <Bitstream> Comet had gone into shock
[01:02] <Bitstream> and fainted
[01:02] <AIan> Diecast and Lifeblood got to know each other.
[01:03] <Bitstream> also, we'd determined that we were in a parallel universe, and theorized that a singularity in the same system that the station was in in our universe might be a route home
[01:04] <AIan> Yes, however, Lil had to get this information from Cirrus, which I'm sure just made his day. /:)
[01:07] <AIan> Dunno. Given that the launch bay was a priority in repairs last time, I'm guessing you're planning to reinhabit the ship rather soon.
[01:07] <AIan> However much of the ship is left.
[01:08] <Bitstream> most of the drive systems are shot
[01:09] <Bitstream> let's say a little bit of time has past, but not much. We can start out with the kids and Solder in Medbay
[01:09] <Bitstream> (and others wherever they need to be)
[01:14] * Waitstate is on the planet still coordinating with LeRoy
[01:14] <Solder> Look, Cirrus, he'll be fine. Don'cha have a job to be doin'?
[01:15] * Admiral Lilwall is enroute to the Freedom.
[01:15] * Solder is trying to get Cirrus out of Medbay.
[01:15] <Cirrus> But he hasn't woken up yet...
[01:15] <Solder> Y'know what, Kid?
[01:16] <Restore> Cirrus we're very busy here and I'm certain you have other things that need doing.
[01:16] <Solder> The more you just sit 'round an' wait without occupying you'self, the longer it'll seem t'take for'im to wake up!
[01:16] * LeRoy, cigarette resting between his lips, wearing thick welding goggles, sighs "went over the read out of that husk up in orbit, Waitstate. I tell you, I've never seen anything take such a beating..."
[01:16] * Talis is still tinkering in a rear-section bulkhead on board the Freedom.
[01:17] * Apocrypha is over in the city, learning about the history of this colony (in this universe).
[01:17] <Waitstate> Well, it's not often you get a chain reaction like this in a plasma manifold. So what's the verdict?
[01:17] * Sunspot has gotten back to the engineering repairs, trusting the kids to be safe with the med drones.
[01:17] * Solder sighs.
[01:18] <Solder> Restore, I think the engineering chick wanted me to help doctor the ship itself. Is that okay?
[01:18] * LeRoy nods a little, blowing smoke out his nose "My boys say they'd expect lots of duct tape and a quick act of god to pull it together, I mean, you're REAL lucky even a portion of the drive systems are still in tact..."
[01:19] * Avalanche is still down on the planet moving heavy stuff at the camp and having long, angsty internal dialogues with his new partner.
[01:20] <Waitstate> what's the progress on the new antimatter reactor core? Were you able to adapt our specifications to something useable?
[01:20] <Restore> By all means, Solder. Things should be under control here.
[01:20] <Solder> Okeydokes.
[01:20] * Solder strides out of Medbay.
[01:20] <Cirrus> You're gonna call me when Comet gets better, right?
[01:21] <Solder> *on his way out* They will, kid.
[01:21] * Admiral Lilwall arrives at the nearest hole in the hull to the aux bridge, shifts to robot and enters.
[01:21] * Cirrus gives Comet a last worried glance, then leaves with Solder.
[01:21] * LeRoy nods a little, taking a drag off his cigarette "Progress is...slow. If my boys were up there, it'd be going twice as fast. We're working on some Power Suits as we speak, and you better believe we'll be up there in a jack flash when we can. You'll be happy to here we've beenable to synthesize alot of the alloys we'll need for the animatter shielding
[01:22] <Waitstate> excellent, excellent. and what about the more... exotic materials needed to repair the DEM?
[01:22] * Admiral Lilwall heads for the aux bridge, in awe of the damage.
[01:23] <Solder> Cirrus, where're you s'posed to be?
[01:24] * LeRoy sighs "Lost two of my best tech's when a sample power source blew up in their faces. They're alive, and ready to get back on the project, but I think the DEM's gonna have to wait until we can get aboard. I do NOT want my guys getting hurt."
[01:24] <Cirrus> I don't really know, sir. I was fixing our orbit, but the vav 'puter's repaired enough now to take care of it.
[01:24] <Solder> Oh. Huh. Well.
[01:25] <Solder> Well!
[01:25] <Solder> [comm] Sunspot, do you copy?
[01:25] <Sunspot> [comm] Hiya, Solder! What's the situation down there?
[01:26] <Waitstate> of course. well, it's a relatively low priority system for now. My engineers are doing their best to repair the critical systems as we speak. The ship should be livable within a week
[01:26] <Solder> [comm] Eh, the kid's asleep. Same ol'. I'm free to help again... and Cirrus here doesn't seem to have anything else to do, either.
[01:26] <Sunspot> [comm] Well, let me see...
[01:27] * Sunspot checks the computer.
[01:27] * LeRoy nods "the Power Suits will be ready within two days" and LeRoy chuckles "When you own a third of the planet's resources, you get results fast."
[01:27] <Waitstate> must be nice, heh.
[01:28] <Sunspot> [comm] There's a pretty big hole in the service lines down near the bridge. That's really important to get things back online, and I can't find a way to reroute around it. Could you two go take a look at it for me?
[01:28] * Gravix walks around the ship.
[01:28] * Admiral Lilwall enters the aux bridge, seeing only Bit and Lightning inside, working at consoles.
[01:28] <Solder> [comm] Hold, please. *elevator music*
[01:28] <Solder> Whaddya think, kid?
[01:29] <Cirrus> As long as we dont find any more... things *shudders*
[01:29] <Solder> Gotcha.
[01:29] <Solder> [comm] We're back!
[01:30] <Solder> [comm] And we'll do it. Anything else we should know? Scary monsters? Door-to-door salesmen?
[01:30] * Talis comms the auxiliary bridge.
[01:30] <Talis> [comm] Anyone still up there?
[01:30] <Admiral Lilwall> [comm] Go ahead.
[01:30] * LeRoy grins and turns, snapping his fingers three times. four of the red and white garbbed White Star employees rush over. LeRoy points at the front two "McNider, Pratt. Take Sloan and Grant and get your asses over to the Drive System site. Tell Supervisor Tyler to divert all off-time White Star Employees to the reconstructive facilities. Quadruple pay for all who show up" the four nod and take off for of the numerous White Star Vechicles.
[01:30] <Sunspot> [comm] It should be safe enough down there... I'm shutting off the power to that utility section so it won't fry you. Just let me know when it's patched and I'll turn the juice back on.
[01:30] <Talis> [comm] If anyone's heading aft, you might want to come my way. Just got the rear sensors online, which means we've got some power heading back this way.
[01:31] <Solder> [comm] Ten-four, goldenbabe. Solder out.
[01:31] <Solder> Let's go!
[01:31] * Solder runs off.
[01:31] <Waitstate> It's especially nice when you don't have to worry about the future, eh?
[01:31] * Cirrus chases.
[01:31] <Anchor> *finishes making himself useful being small* [Comm to Sunspot] Finished rerouting the designated sections. Anywhere you want me, chief?
[01:31] <Cirrus> Wait up! Your legs are longer!
[01:31] <Admiral Lilwall> [comm] Acknowledged.
[01:32] <Admiral Lilwall> Any indication much data we lost in the boom, Bit?
[01:32] * LeRoy chuckles "I have a sister with four kids, Waitstate. I worry about a lot of futures..."
[01:33] <Sunspot^> [comm] The damage down in the plaza is keeping me from getting power to a lot of places in the front of the ship. Any chance you could go see about patching some of that up, Anchor?
[01:33] * Gravix comms the auxiliary brdige.
[01:33] <BIT> Virtually nothing. 13.34% of sensor data during the attack and subsequent explosion was not recorded.
[01:33] <Solder> ....wo-AH.
[01:33] * Solder sticks a hand out to stop Cirrus.
[01:33] <Solder> Stop!
[01:33] <Waitstate> Yeah... sisters.
[01:34] <Solder> Big hole in the floor.
[01:34] * Solder points.
[01:34] * Cirrus stumbles into Solder's hand.
[01:34] <Anchor> [comm] Consider it done
[01:34] <Crosswire> [comm to Sunspot] This area is a loss, total replacement required. Moving on to sector 18B.
[01:34] <Admiral-Lilwall> Crosswire> [comm to Sunspot] This area is a loss, total replacement required. Moving on to sector 18B
[01:34] <Admiral Lilwall> [comm] Go ahead, Gravix.
[01:34] <Gravix> Got room for another on the bridge?
[01:34] <Gravix> It's getting rather tiresome out here.
[01:34] <Waitstate> I just meant, since you're leaving and probably never coming back, it hardly matters if you drain away all your resources.
[01:34] <Gravix> The others seem to have it under control.
[01:35] <Solder> Um... by the way, Cirrus...
[01:35] <Cirrus> I can fly us over!
[01:35] <Waitstate> <Cirrus> I can fly us over!
[01:35] <Admiral Lilwall> [comm] We have room everywhere at the moment. The more help getting things back in working order here, the better.
[01:35] <Sunspot> [comm] Roger, Crosswire. I'll add it to the list. Thanks!
[01:35] <Solder> ...great idea, kid, but wait a click...
[01:35] <Cirrus> ok... what's the matter?
[01:35] <Solder> ...which way are the bridge's service lines, anyway? <:)
[01:36] * Anchor signs off, gathers various equipment together into a small toolbox which he carries by his tail, and makes with the move-move. Using all four limbs, he quickly makes his way through various ducts and crawlspaces interwoven throughout the ship, bypassing several heavily damaged areas, and arrives at the forward plaza in a moments notice.
[01:36] * LeRoy smiles brightly "Hey, if you don't use what you got before you die, it's all useless isn't it?"
[01:36] <Cirrus> umm... down actually.
[01:36] * Solder looks down.
[01:36] <Solder> ...like, through that hole?
[01:36] <Cirrus> Not directly. But it's a few decks down and a little further ahead.
[01:36] <Admiral-Lilwall> Excellent, Bit. Thats one major worry in the clear.
[01:37] <Solder> Huh.
[01:37] <Solder> Well, lead the way, kiddo. I gotta make a phone call.
[01:37] <Solder> Long distance. Heh heh!
[01:37] <BIT> A matter of pride, sir.
[01:37] <Admiral Lilwall> I'll bet.
[01:37] <Waitstate> Something like that I suppose, heh.
[01:38] <Waitstate> <Cirrus> Umm... ok. Can you get down ok?
[01:38] <Solder> I think so.
[01:38] * Solder jumps.
[01:39] * Solder lands rather shakily, but walks it off.
[01:39] <Cirrus> ok! *jumps after, landing several moments later, gracefully and on both feet.*
[01:39] <LeRoy> Now, *turns on a nearby smaller holoprojector. What appears is what's left of the freedom, with the destroyed bits represented by bright red outlines* This was your ship. Give me the exacts on what needs to be done.
[01:39] <Waitstate> <Cirrus> We need to find a couple other holes too.
[01:39] * Gravix walks onto the auxiliary bridge.
[01:39] <Gravix> Hello.
[01:40] * Solder follows Cirrus.
[01:40] *Autumn Beauty returns to the camp after a trip around the countryside gathering samples and shifts to robot form, sitting somewhere on her own.
[01:40] <Admiral-Lilwall> Things all in order out there, Gravix?
[01:41] <Gravix> Things are going swimmingly.
[01:41] * Anchor tweaks, spans, screws, bolts, and adjusts various dodads and thingamajiggers out of his toolbox, finally coming up with the correct tools. "Gotta love Yassinian Omni-Tools," he mutters to himself as he starts about clearing the area with welders and torches and mini-cranes and whatnot.
[01:41] <Gravix> Or rather, as well as they can given the circumstances
[01:41] <Solder> [comm] Lifeblood, do YOU copy?
[01:41] <Waitstate> Well, the entire port sublight drive is dead, and the starboard one needs a rebuild badly. The antimatter core needs replacement. The DEM requires a new lense. And of course there are two many places to mention in the power distribution grid that need replacing.
[01:41] <Lifeblood> [comm] Affirmative.
[01:41] <Solder> [comm] Hey, you.
[01:41] <Admiral Lilwall> True. Pick a console and see what you can do.
[01:42] <Solder> [comm] I've been thinkin'.
[01:43] * Goannis heads over to Waitstate.
[01:43] <Solder> [comm] Rememb'r when we were 'vacuatin', an' you said somethin' 'bout how sad it was we Transformers are always fightin'?
[01:43] * Cirrus merrily leads Solder along, making a game of avoiding and bypassing debris.
[01:43] <Lifeblood> [comm] Affirmative.
[01:45] <Solder> [comm] Well, you're one of those religious 'bots... could fightin' be our destiny? Like, maybe we were meant to fight... or something? For a reason?
[01:46] <Lifeblood> [comm] It is possible.
[01:46] <LeRoy> I've got my best men working on the Antimatter replacements as we speak. The sublight drives look something nasty unless we can get our hands on one of the broken ones and work from their, and the power grids we replicated are ready to be installed faster than a drunk girls skirt droppin on prom night" and he smiles broadly.
[01:46] <Lifeblood> [comm] But what an empty destiny.
[01:46] * Anchor pauses his work to take a look about... "This place looks like someone nuked an underground bunker..."
[01:46] <Solder> [comm] Well, what would you do? You, specifically?
[01:46] <Lifeblood> [comm] For the creations of a defender of life to be dedicated to extinguishing it?
[01:47] <Solder> [comm] Mebbe we've got somethin' terrible to extinguish? I dunno, it seems t'be how religions work.
[01:47] <Solder> [comm] For every big Good Guy there's a Big Bad Guy...
[01:47] <Waitstate> Well, I'm prepared to sacrifice the remainder of the starboard drive if it means we'll get a better system out of it.
[01:47] <Lifeblood> [comm] Each other. We destroy each other.
[01:47] <Solder> [comm] Practice makes perfect.
[01:48] <Goannis> Excuse me Waitstate.
[01:48] * LeRoy nods "You bring that bastard down here and we'll have you two working ones as soon as possible."
[01:48] <Solder> [comm] Anyway, I 'magine you're busy and all, so I'll quit buggin' ya now. Ta-ta.
[01:49] * Solder walks into a wall.
[01:49] <Solder> Thanks a lot, Cirrus.
[01:49] * Anchor shoves a mini-crane over to a big fat conduit that appears to have fallen out of the celing in the blast. The tubing is almost big enough for Anchor to crawl through, so obviously it's a little too heavy for even the ape-tape. With the crane and some welding equipment, though, he's able to clear it away in a moment's notice.
[01:50] * Sunspot talks to the computer absent-mindedly.
[01:50] * Waitstate turns.
[01:50] <Waitstate> Yes Goannis? Can I help you? *smiles*
[01:50] * Gravix pushes buttons on the console.
[01:51] <Goannis> Cuffs asked me to tell you that he has identified the remains of those crew we lost. They're all listed here, 32 names. *holds out a data pad*
[01:51] * Comet wakes up.
[01:51] <Comet> Wuh... where am I?
[01:52] * Waitstate slumps.
[01:52] <Waitstate> thank you Goannis.
[01:53] <Comet> H-.. hello? Is there anyone there?
[01:54] * Comet sits up on his bed.
[01:54] * Restore turns from her patient.
[01:54] <Restore> Comet, you're up, how do you feel?
[01:54] * LeRoy sighs, patting Waitstate on the leg "People die, mate. It wasn't your fault and their aint nothing you coulda done to help them."
[01:55] <Waitstate> you said you have a sister?
[01:55] <Comet^> Sluggish... like my RAM desperately needs a refresh...
[01:55] <Solder> Cirrus, where ARE we?
[01:55] * LeRoy nods "Yea. She lives up north."
[01:56] <Restore> You'll be fine. Solder and Cirrus brought you back to medbay.
[01:56] <Waitstate> So did I. She's on this list.
[01:56] <Restore> Give yourself a few minutes, then you should be fine to return to duty.
[01:56] <Comet> Whuh... oh. The launch bay... is Cirrus okay?
[01:57] <Cirrus> ummm.... Engineering access tube 3-J :)
[01:57] <Restore> He's fine, off working somewhere.
[01:57] * LeRoy winces noticably "Oh man...I'm sorry, Waitstate. But still, there's nothing that you yourself coulda done to help."
[01:58] <Solder> ... oh. Okay. Much further?
[01:58] <Comet> Oh... okay.
[01:59] <Admiral Lilwall> [comm] Freedom to Waitstate,
[01:59] <Cirrus> Not much! Watch your head :) *walks right in to a smaller corridor, just clearing the ceiling. Solder however will have to hunch down.*
[02:00] * Waitstate looks up from the list, slowly
[02:00] <Waitstate> [comm] Waitstate here.
[02:00] * Solder crawls on his hands and knees.
[02:00] * Cirrus turns a corner suddenly
[02:01] * Solder hits another wall.
[02:01] <Solder> CIRRUS!
[02:01] <Admiral Lilwall> [comm] A piece of good news, we've had minimal data lost from the computer core. Some areas of the ship have some form of power restored to them, any extra crew you can spare would be appreciated.
[02:01] <Cirrus> *shouts back* What? *sees* oh... sorry!
[02:01] <Solder> [comm] Sunspot, if I live through this, I'm going to kill you.
[02:02] * Solder grumbles and turns down the corner Cirrus took.
[02:02] <Sunspot> [comm] I always forget it's harder for you big guys to do this stuff...
[02:02] <Waitstate> [comm] Good to hear it. Good news down here too, but too much to mention in detail. In the meantime, can you get a crew to uncouple the starboard sublight drive? We're going to have to give it to the White Star people for study.
[02:03] <Solder> [comm] I should've just checked my kibble at the door.
[02:03] * Comet hops off the medical bed.
[02:03] <Admiral Lilwall> [comm] No problem.
[02:03] <Gravix> This is a bad time to have so much action.
[02:03] <Comet> So, um, who do I report to, anyway?
[02:04] <Restore> It'd be Sunspot or Lilwall I guess. What were doing before hand?
[02:04] * LeRoy lights another cigarette, slowly dragging off it.
[02:05] <Comet> Um, hanging out on the bridge with Cirrus, then we had to go save... Solder... in the launch bay, but... nevermind.
[02:05] * Comet shakes his head.
[02:05] <Comet> Thanks!
[02:05] <Comet> [comm] Ah-Admiral?
[02:05] <Admiral Lilwall> [comm] Go ahead Comet.
[02:06] <Comet> [comm] I'm, uh, awake now, and, uh... well, reporting for d-d-duty, SIR!
[02:08] <Admiral-Lilwall> [comm] Head outside to the starboard nacelle. I'll meet you there with a few others shortly.
[02:08] <Comet> [comm] Yessir!
[02:08] <Comet> ...um, Restore, which way to the starboard nacelle?
[02:09] <Comet> I really ought to have downloaded the map first thing... some navigator I am...
[02:09] <Restore> The nearest airlock I'd say. Or the nearest hole in the hull you can fit through.
[02:11] <Comet> Oh, okay. Good thing I'm a spaceflyer.
[02:12] <Comet> Thanks, again, Restore.
[02:12] * Comet leaves Medbay.
[02:12] * LeRoy taps lightly on Waitstate's leg "Have your crew drop off the sublight engine at White-Star Station One. I have some techs there that can do wonders."
[02:12] <Restore> No problem.
[02:13] * Waitstate nods to LeRoy, and relays the info to the Freedom.
[02:13] <Admiral-Lilwall> [comm] Sunspot, I need the starboard sublight drive uncoupled for transport.
[02:13] * Comet quickly finds a hole. Poor ship.
[02:14] <Talis> [comm] *interrupts Sunspot/Lil* Sunspot, copy?
[02:14] <Comet> ...hrm, emergency forcefield. Guess I'll use an airlock...
[02:14] * Comet wanders off in search of one.
[02:16] <Sunspot> [comm] What's up, Talis?
[02:16] <Gravix> Hello? Anyone?
[02:16] <Talis> [comm] I'm near the starboard sublight drive right now. Need a hand?
[02:16] <Admiral Lilwall> Yeees? Hello Gravix.
[02:17] <Gravix> Just checking to see who's up for a chat.
[02:17] * LeRoy calls up to the White-Star Station One, telling them to prepare.
[02:17] * Gravix continues pushing buttons.
[02:17] * Comet finds an airlock and jettisons himself out into space.
[02:17] <Admiral Lilwall> We can chat on the way outside, you and Lightning come with me.
[02:17] <Gravix> Ah, more excitement.
[02:18] * Admiral Lilwall gets up and heads for the nearest airlock.
[02:18] * Comet transforms and coasts around the rear of the Freedom looking for the Admiral.
[02:18] <Sunspot> [comm] I need all the hands I can get! I'll turn off any power that might still be running down there so you can manually detach them.
[02:18] * Lightning follows.
[02:18] <Gravix> There's so much work to do it's a wonder that we'll ever finish.
[02:18] * Gravix follows.
[02:18] <Solder> Are we there yet?
[02:19] <Cirrus> yup! It's right through here. :)
[02:19] <Admiral Lilwall> I hope we aren't stuck here too long. I don't find much comfort knowing we're the only Cybertronians in this reality.
[02:19] <Solder> 'Bout slaggin' time, ye varmint..
[02:19] * Cirrus gestures at a terribly small opening.
[02:19] * Admiral Lilwall reaches the airlock and exits the ship.
[02:19] * Cirrus goes through easily
[02:19] <Solder> ...how'm I s'posed to fit through that?!?
[02:20] <Cirrus> It's not too small!
[02:20] * Admiral Lilwall transforms and heads for the rear of the ship.
[02:20] <Gravix> Personally, I think Waitstate is far too trusting.
[02:20] * Gravix follows suit.
[02:20] * Lightning also follows.
[02:20] * Talis gets to the sublight drive and waits.
[02:20] <Solder> Maybe for YOU..
[02:20] * Comet floats around space, waiting for other Transformers to show up.
[02:20] <Admiral Lilwall> There isn't much choice unfortunatly. LeRoy signed on with LONAC, so that has to count for something at least.
[02:21] * Talis gets to the nearest bulkhead to the sublight drive and waits.
[02:21] * Crosswire shows up not far from Talis.
[02:21] * Sunspot powers down all the sublight drive systems and undoes the electromagnetic latches.
[02:21] * White-Star Station One hangs over the serene planet, a large blocky red and white structure floating silently in space.
[02:21] <Crosswire> What's going on?
[02:21] * Solder transforms and drives through. Ah-heh.
[02:22] [narration The few lights that actually worked in the area of the sublight drive now go dark.
[02:22] * Admiral-Lilwall and co meet up with Comet.
[02:22] <Comet> Admiral!
[02:22] <Comet> Th-there you are.. :)
[02:22] <Admiral Lilwall> Didn't think I'd let you float about on your own now did you?
[02:23] <Talis> Hey Cross. Waiting for Sunspot to.. *lights go out* ...there we go. She's cutting power so we can uncouple the sublight drive unit.
[02:23] * Comet would grin sheepishly if he weren't in changeform.
[02:23] * Talis keys open a crawlspace hatch (selfpowered) and climbs in, heading for the internal couplings.
[02:24] <Talis> Ugh, these things are cramped...
[02:24] [narration] Loud clacking sounds accompany the unlocking of the latches.
[02:24] * Solder transforms back to robot mode.
[02:24] <Admiral Lilwall> Ok, we have to take the sublight drive to the orbital station around the planet. Be prepared to lock onto once we get the clear from Sunspot.
[02:24] * Crosswire assist Tails.
[02:25] <Sunspot> [comm] Let me know when you're in position and I'll give the command to jettison.
[02:25] <Crosswire> Cramped for a bot like you maybe.
[02:25] * Talis hears the latches unlock, and heads for the first main coupling device that accompanies it. Hitting the right buttons, he manually disconnects the first main coupling.
[02:25] <Solder> These must be the lines she mentioned, Cirrus...
[02:25] * Solder points them out.
[02:25] <Gravix> Okay dokay.
[02:26] <Cirrus> looks it. mannn... they're toast!
[02:26] <Talis> Crosswire, head up that port to the second coupling. There are two more down this way. We can uncouple the next one without a problem, but to prevent damage, you and I have to uncouple the third and fourth at the same time.
[02:26] <Crosswire> Ok. *heads off*
[02:26] <Solder> Yeah. Guess we've got our work cut out for us... well! Iacon wasn't built in a day!
[02:26] * Solder gets to work.
[02:27] <Talis> I'll tell you when I get the next one, then key in yours and wait for me to tell you when. *heads the other way*
[02:27] <Comet> So, um, we're all going to tow it together? Ok...
[02:27] <Comet> ...my engines aren't that powerful, but I'll do what I can!
[02:27] * Talis gets to the second coupling, keys in the commands, then presses the unlock and lets it go.
[02:28] * Cirrus starts clearing away debris of casing and burnt insulation.
[02:28] <Admiral Lilwall> It'll be enough, we don't have anyone else spare around at the moment anyway.
[02:28] * Talis climbs up to the next coupling, keys it in, and holds his hand over the {unlock} key.
[02:28] <Talis> [comm] Ready Crosswire?
[02:28] * Crosswire enters the codes and hits the unlock.
[02:28] * Solder does so, too, and also begins counting the gaps in he lines.
[02:29] * Talis hits the unlock.
[02:29] <Crosswire> [comm] ready.
[02:29] <Comet> Yessir!
[02:29] <Talis> got it.
[02:29] [narration] The travel tubes quake quite a bit as the drive disconnects.
[02:30] * Cirrus stumbles as the ship rocks a bit
[02:30] <Talis> [comm] Sublight drive separated
[02:30] <Sunspot> [comm] Okay, I'm telling it to jettison!
[02:30] * Solder falls, too, and flashes an accusatory glare at Cirrus.
[02:30] <Cirrus> Wasnt me!
[02:31] <Solder> I... yeah, it couldn't have been...
[02:31] <Solder> Anyway.
[02:31] * Solder gets back to work.
[02:31] [narration] Small thrusters in the ship push the sublight drive assembly away.
[02:31] * Restore nearly kills the patient thanks to the shudder
[02:31] <Comet> So, uh.. you'll tell me what I need to do, right? I don't wanna disappoint...
[02:32] <Admiral-Lilwall> Alright bots, pick a parking spot and latch on
[02:33] * Talis crawls out of the travel tubes and into the corridor.
[02:33] * Comet goes as ordered.
[02:33] <Talis> [comm] Sunspot, you can restore power now.
[02:33] * Lightning deploys a tow cable cause he has one.
[02:33] <Sunspot> [comm] Okay, thanks, Talis! Good luck, guys!
[02:34] * Gravix latches on.
[02:34] * Sunspot goes back to trying to return gravity to a still-gravityless section of the ship.
[02:35] * Anchor is tinkering with... stuff!
[02:36] * Admiral Lilwall latches onto the drive also. "Let's go."
[02:36] * Anchor has pretty much stopped any sort of repairs in the plaza... his curiosity took over around the time he found some very interesting stuff lying about.
[02:36] * Comet tows.
[02:36] * Gravix tows as well.
[02:38] <Admiral Lilwall> [comm] Admiral Lilwall to White Star Orbital. We're on approach with the sublight drive. ETA 10 minutes.
[02:39] <Solder> Cirrus.. what are we repairing this WITH, anyway?
[02:40] * WhiteStar responds! "[comm] Roger that, Admiral Lilwall. Unfortunately, this installation wasn't built for beings of your size, so we can't ask you to stay for long. We had to seriously clear space to make room for the drive as it is."
[02:41] <Admiral Lilwall> [comm] Not surprising, see you soon.
[02:41] <Cirrus> umm... these? *holds out a toolbox*
[02:42] <WhiteStar Orbital> [comm] Understood. Docking bay one is open and ready to take that sublight drive off your hands, sir.
[02:42] <Solder> I... well, yes. I mean, what about materials?
[02:43] <Comet> [comm] It um, sure is nice of these guys to help us..
[02:44] * Cirrus opens up the bottom of the box: spare parts!
[02:44] <Solder> ...
[02:44] <Solder> Durrrrrrr.
[02:44] <Solder> Heh. S'ry. /:)
[02:44] * Solder goes back to work, then..
[02:44] * Cirrus smiles ^_^
[02:45] * Cirrus clears away bits with a sonic screwdriver in preperation for the new parts.
[02:45] * Solder patches lines...
[02:46] <Solder> [comm] Sunspot, we're at the lines and makin' good progress. What was up with the shakes earlier, girl?
[02:46] * Cirrus fits in a new EPS tap, and starts routing the lins to it
[02:46] <Sunspot> [comm] Some of the flyers took the sublight drive out to be fixed. Don't worry, nothing else blew up!
[02:49] <Solder> [comm] Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, so THAT's all. WELL! Okeledokey, babebot. Solder out.
[02:49] * Sunspot is too busy with the computer systems to care. ^.^
[02:51] * WhiteStar Station One sits quietly, the huge station slowly moving in orbit. A huge door opens near the bottom, to allow the sublight drive to be stored.
[02:51] * Comet continues towing.
[02:54] <Solder> Fixin' a hole, fixin' a hole, it's all I do, is fix holes...
[02:54] * Cirrus coats the new lines with insulation
[02:56] <Solder> Whass' my name!
[02:56] * Solder solders new lines.
[02:56] * Cirrus is slightly afraid of Solder
[02:56] * Solder's arm falls off.
[02:56] <Solder> ...
[02:56] * Anchor builds an arm out of stuff!
[02:57] <Solder> Conflaggin piece'o'junk!!
[02:57] * Admiral Lilwall and co arrive at the station.
[02:57] <Solder> Cirrus, could you... y'know?
[02:57] * Cirrus blinks...
[02:57] <Cirrus> Umm... *looks at the arm, totally freaked*
[02:58] <Solder> It's just an arm!
[02:58] <Solder> Oh, ferprimussake...
[02:58] * Solder re-attaches his own arm. Badly.
[02:58] * Solder doesn't admit it's badly-done.
[02:58] <Admiral-Lilwall> [comm] White Star, we're commencing docking proceedure.
[02:59] * Cirrus shies away and starts repairing the cable casing.
[02:59] <WhiteStar> [comm] Roger that. don't worry, sir. your drive's in good hands."
[03:00] <Solder> Sheesh, kid. Act like you've never seen your own guts...
[03:00] * Comet synchronizes with the rest of the tow crew...
[03:01] * Admiral-Lilwall and co dock the drive with the station.
[03:01] * Admiral-Lilwall detaches from the drive.
[03:01] * Comet detaches, also.
[03:01] * Lightning detaches his tow cable and reels it back into place.
[03:02] * Gravix detaches as well.
[03:02] <Solder> I think I'm almost done, runt... you?
[03:02] <Cirrus> *startles* umm, yeah *welds* done.
[03:02] <Admiral Lilwall> You guys return to the ship and help out with whatever repair work Sunspot needs.
[03:03] <Comet> Yessir..
[03:03] <Gravix> Will do!
[03:03] <Admiral Lilwall> I'm gonna go annoy the grey guy.
[03:03] * Comet^ flies back to the ship.
[03:03] * Admiral Lilwall heads down to the planet.
[03:03] * Solder finishes up.
[03:03] <Solder> Ok... you wanna call'er, or me?
[03:03] * Lightning follows Comet and Gravix.
[03:04] * The Station slowly closes its docking doors after the robots leave, doens of techs swarming over it like starving ants.
[03:04] <Solder> ...kid?
[03:04] <Cirrus> I- I dunno. You? Or I can...
[03:04] <Admiral Lilwall> [comm] Sunspot, I'm heading back planetside. You've got rank.
[03:05] <Solder> Oh, I'll do't. Stand back.
[03:05] * Solder steps back himself.
[03:05] <Sunspot> [comm] I do? Okay, Admiral! I'll keep things moving up here!
[03:06] <Solder> [comm] Sunspot?
[03:06] <Sunspot> [comm] Yes, Solder?
[03:06] <Solder> [comm] Hit it!
[03:06] * Cirrus gladly backs away.
[03:06] * Admiral Lilwall arrives bak at the camp and returns to bot mode, landing near Waitstate.
[03:07] <Admiral-Lilwall> Sublight drive delivered.
[03:07] <Comet> [comm] Cirrus!
[03:08] <Admiral Lilwall> In less than 30 minutes too.
[03:08] * Cirrus lights up
[03:08] <Admiral Lilwall> So no discounts were needed.
[03:08] <Cirrus> Comet? You're awake!
[03:09] <Comet> [comm] Yeah.. I just helped drop off the sublight drive.
[03:09] <Cirrus> Aww... I'll miss it.
[03:09] <Comet> [comm] How's things?
[03:10] * Sunspot turns the power back on in the section with Solder and Cirrus and the lights come back on.
[03:10] <Cirrus> [comm] We finished. I can leave now.
[03:11] * Cirrus closes up his toolbox in fact, and starts to go.
[03:11] <Comet> [comm] Finished... what? o_o
[03:11] * Sunspot tries to route some power to the bridge through the newly-repaired conduit.
[03:11] * Sunspot watches the computer readout closely.
[03:11] <Cirrus> [comm] I was fixin' stuff. With Solder...
[03:11] * Solder starts to leave, too... and remembers he doesn't fit through the passageway very well.
[03:11] * Solder transforms and drives through.
[03:12] * Comet^ growls to himself, but loud enough that Cirrus could hear it anyway.
[03:12] [narration] The computer shows power running successfully through to the bridge, bringing the lights online.
[03:12] <Sunspot> [comm] You did it, guys!
[03:12] <Goannis> (still with Wait) How bad is the ship, really?
[03:13] <Solder> [comm] Great! Can we get less cramped accessways sometime? *grouchy*
[03:13] <Admiral Lilwall> It was on the edge of salvagable and total loss,
[03:13] <Waitstate> she'll fly again, but it's gonna take a LOT of work
[03:14] <Goannis> And.... how is Download?
[03:14] * Sunspot ignores Solder's complaining and gets to work getting more things in that part of the ship online.
[03:15] <Goannis> I haven't seen him down here, and he's not on the list of dead..
[03:15] <Admiral-Lilwall> So far, he's not been located.
[03:15] <Goannis> Oh.
[03:16] * Goannis wanders off to sit with Autumn.
[03:17] <Cirrus> [comm] Yeah. *hurries along*
[03:17] <Comet> [comm] ...yeah?
[03:18] <Cirrus> [comm] he's kinda scary.
[03:18] <Solder> [comm] So now what, anyway, Goldengirl?
[03:18] <Comet> [comm] ...yeah.
[03:19] <Sunspot> [comm] Now I need you guys to go help Anchor down near what used to be the Plaza. All the damage down there cut off a few of the hubs.
[03:19] <Solder> [comm] Is it crowded there?
[03:20] <Sunspot> [comm] It's crowded with debris, how's that for ya?
[03:20] <Solder> [comm] Um, well, can I stand up?
[03:20] <Admiral Lilwall> So, Goannis mentioned a list... Cuffs managed to identify them all..?
[03:20] * Comet arrives back on the Freedom.
[03:21] <Comet> [comm] Comet to Sunspot...
[03:22] <Sunspot> [comm] Hi, Comet! You wanna help out in the plaza, too? It'll be like a big party!
[03:22] <Comet> [comm] ...uh, okay. How'd you know my orders? <:)
[03:23] <Sunspot> [comm] If you're coming up here, you're repair crew!
[03:23] <Waitstate> Looks like it. Of course, casualty lists have a way of going up, unfortunately
[03:23] <Comet> [comm] Ah-heh. Well, I'll get to the Plaza, then...
[03:23] * Waitstate hands Lil the list
[03:23] * Comet starts walking.
[03:23] * Admiral Lilwall looks through it.
[03:24] <Admiral Lilwall> Unfortunatly so. There's many missing. At least 10 confirmed dead on the ship. Download is presumed as such.
[03:25] <Admiral Lilwall> A lot of casualties were in the plaza. But a few survived, barely.
[03:26] <Admiral-Lilwall> There was an incident in the launch bay earlier.
[03:26] <Waitstate> I heard *shudders* I don't want to go that way.
[03:30] * Comet reaches... what's left of the Plaza.
[03:30] * Comet's jaw drops.
[03:31] * Anchor hops to his feet and salutes to Comet.
[03:31] <Comet> H....h-hi...
[03:31] * Comet is in shock.
[03:31] <Anchor> Hm, so the boss sent some help?
[03:31] <Comet> Yes.
[03:32] * Lightning also enters the plaza ruins.
[03:32] * Comet composes himself.
[03:32] <Comet> Hello.
[03:32] * Anchor notes Comet's shock and looks over his shoulder at the half-cleaned carnage behind him "Lovely, isn't it? Of course, I'm being sarcastic. It's a damn shame" he says with a shake of his head.
[03:32] <Comet> Yeah...
[03:32] * Solder appears on the other end of the Plaza ruins.
[03:33] <Solder> O_O
[03:33] <Solder> O_O
[03:33] <Solder> What in THE world blew through HERE?
[03:33] * Anchor tilts his head and extends his hand after a pause "I don't believe we've met. I'm Anchor, second ship's engineer."
[03:34] <Anchor> ooc <Anchor> your mom!
[03:34] <Comet> I'm Comet.. I don't think I've an official duty assignment...
[03:34] * Comet returns the shake.
[03:34] <Anchor> Lovely. Then you can help me with the clean up?
[03:35] <Comet> It's why I'm here! :)
[03:35] <Anchor> Excellent!
[03:35] * Solder waves at the robots on the other end of the Pla - where did Cirrus run off to...?
[03:35] * Lightning goes about repairing what specific parts Sunspot needed done.
[03:35] * Anchor throws Solder a casual wave, not even bothering to look at him.
[03:35] * Comet pointedly ignores Solder.
[03:36] * Solder doesn't notice, because he's too busy looking for Cirrus now.
[03:36] <Solder> Durn kid... if he's hurt they'll hang me fer sure...
[03:36] * Cirrus has fled.
[03:36] * Anchor directs Comet to a big pile of stuff he shoved into a corner.
[03:36] <Solder> [comm] Cirrus?
[03:36] <Anchor> Look through that and see if there's anything useful I missed. If you need help... well, if you're lucky I'll be in the area.
[03:36] <Comet> Ok...
[03:37] <Cirrus> eep! [comm] um, yes?
[03:37] * Comet starts sifting through the junk.
[03:37] <Anchor> Also!
[03:37] <Anchor> Don't touch anything I've marked with the green tape.
[03:37] <Solder> [comm] Kid! Where are you? I'm s'posed to be watchin' after ya... I think...
[03:37] <Comet> ...uh... okay. Sure.
[03:37] * Comet is a little frightened by that.
[03:37] <Anchor> Anything with a blue stripe on it, that's an automatic throw-out.
[03:37] <Comet> Gotcha.
[03:38] <Cirrus> [comm] I'm, um, working! Yeah! Don't worry, I'm ok!
[03:38] <Anchor> If you see anything that looks like a limb, put it over in that corner *points to a corner with a few pieces of... limb-y stuff in it*
[03:38] <Solder> [comm] But... we were ordered to the Plaza, kid...
[03:39] <Anchor> And if you break anything that looks important, tell me.
[03:39] <Comet> :S
[03:39] * Comet makes a queasy face.
[03:39] <Anchor> ... If you see anything that looks like a cash register, call me ASAP
[03:39] <Comet> ... right.
[03:39] * Comet makes a mental note NOT to call Anchor, should that situation arrise.
[03:40] * Comet sorts debris.
[03:41] * Cirrus hides in one of the little conference rooms scattered about the place, for now.
[03:41] <Solder> Crutch.
[03:41] <Solder> [comm] Oh, Aaaaaaaaaaadmiral...
[03:42] <Admiral Lilwall> [comm] Go ahead, and next time call me properly.
[03:43] <Solder> [comm] Sorry babe. Look, Cirrus ditched me. I can't reach Sunspot, and I think I'm s'posed to watch after the kid, but I don't think he wants me to. Izzee gonna be okay?
[03:44] <Admiral Lilwall> [comm] Never call me babe or you'll spend a month in the brig. Sunspot is probably busy and most likly gave Cirrus a different task, so he'll be fine. Just go about whatever task Sunspot set for you.
[03:44] <Solder> [comm] Aye-aye, sir.
[03:44] <Solder> [comm] Solder out.
[03:44] * Anchor goes off and does stuff away from Comet.
[03:44] * Admiral Lilwall looks at Waitstate.
[03:44] * Waitstate shrugs.
[03:45] <Admiral Lilwall> Did we get a psych test out of him?
[03:45] <Waitstate> I think I'll have one ordered, either way
[03:45] [narration] Back on the planet, Diecast gambles!
[03:45] [narration] Back on the planet, Splitwit gets drunk!
[03:45] <Admiral Lilwall> Eh. What's one more loon in the pack these days. Anything else of note beeing happening down here?
[03:45] [narration] Back on the planet, Thrashmane plots seeeeeeeeeeecret stuff.
[03:46] * Solder looks for stuff to fix in the Plaza.
[03:47] * Anchor TELLS Solder what to fix in the plaza. After all, he outranks him... and if he doesn't, there's no one else here to tell him otherwise.
[03:47] <Solder> Oh. Well!
[03:47] * Solder fixes what he's told to fix.
[03:48] <Anchor> *thinks* Damn straight.
[03:49] * Solder thinks to himself... con-flabbin' ego problem in that there varmint...
[03:50] <Comet> ...uh. Huh.
[03:50] <Comet> [comm] Admiral?
[03:50] * Anchor has a system set up that must be strictly adhered to or else Solder and Comet are gonna get it.
[03:50] <Admiral-Lilwall> [comm] Yes Comet.
[03:50] <Comet> [comm] This might sound a little strange sir, so please bear with me...
[03:51] <Comet> [comm] Anchor has me sorting debris in the Plaza. He said to give him any cash registers, but I'm not sure that's such a wise decision. At any rate, I think I've found a cash register. I'm not sure what to do, Sir...
[03:52] <Admiral Lilwall> [comm] Best give it to him. Anchor has a strange relationship with his belongings.
[03:53] <Admiral Lilwall> [comm] if it gets too weird, tell him i said you had to go work on another area of the ship for Waitstate.
[03:53] <Admiral Lilwall> [comm] Lilwall out.
[03:53] <Comet> [comm] I mean, Sir, must it be his? What if he steals someone else's mone - very well...
[03:53] * Admiral Lilwall diverts his comm to Waitstate from now on.
[03:53] <Comet> Anchor? I think I found a register...
[03:53] [narration] The cash register beeps a few times, sputters, and then a couple buttons and switches light up.
[03:53] <Cash Register> Hi! Hi hi hi!
[03:54] <Comet> ...and it's TALKING TO ME...
[03:54] * Anchor perks up and dashes over to Comet.
[03:54] <Anchor> Well I'm proud of you, son.
[03:54] * Comet is knocked over by Anchor.
[03:54] <Cash Register> Hi! Hi hi hi!
[03:54] <Comet> oof.
[03:54] <Comet> ...hi....
[03:54] <Admiral-Lilwall> Things are getting back to normal.
[03:55] <Cash Register> Hi! Hi hi hi!
[03:55] <Anchor> Aw, poor boy...
[03:55] <Anchor> Must be malfuctioning
[03:55] * Anchor reaches around and switches the cash register off.
[03:55] <Anchor> At least this time it didn't start singing "Daisy"
[03:56] * Comet wanders off elsewhere, leaving Anchor and his cash register to themselves.
[03:56] <Anchor> Hey! Get back here. You're not done!
[03:57] * Anchor points to the big pile of stuff that Comet has yet to root through
[03:57] <Comet> Hm? Oh... I'm sorry. I thought you two wanted to be, uh.. alone...
[03:57] * Comet goes back to sifting debris.
[03:57] <Anchor> Get.
[03:57] <Anchor> To
[03:57] <Anchor> Work.
[03:58] * Anchor glares.
[03:58] <Comet> I am!
[03:58] * Comet is back to work.
