Session Start: Sun Feb 02 00:09:06 2003
[00:09] [narration] Unaware that the Freedom is under attack by pirates, the Away Team continues onward into
the space station. [note: this log only deals with the events that take place on the station.]
[00:09] * Waitstate pushes open the airlock, leading his group inside of the darkened station.
[00:12] <Apocrypha> If, um, I were something we were looking for, then, um, where would I be?
[00:12] * Waitstate pops out a flash beam and shines it around the entryway.
[00:14] * Avalanche follows Waitstate and the rest of the Away Team.
[00:15] <Waitstate> [comm] Wait to Freedom, we're inside.
[00:15] [narration] The signal is blocked by the station's shielding.
[00:16] <Apocrypha> There's, um, semi-adequate UV visibility in here.
[00:16] <Waitstate> [comm] Freedom? come in please?
[00:16] <Waitstate> Looks like whatever blocked our sensors is also doing a number on our comms.
[00:16] <Apocrypha> Well, how much trouble can they get into out here? They're safe on the ship.
[00:18] * Waitstate explores inward.
[00:19] * Waitstate switches to enhanced UV scan.
[00:19] * Outreach hangs out near Waitstate, toolkit in hand.
[00:19] <Apocrypha> Can we get a map or, um, anything in here?
[00:20] * Chameleon and Ghoststalker follow the others on the station, both with their weapons drawn.
[00:20] * Earshot lights up his eyes, scanning the area with Waitstate.
[00:20] <Waitstate> I'm having difficulty locking on to any power sources.
[00:20] <Apocrypha> Well, we could always go, um, up. That was where the main body was.
[00:21] <Apocrypha> Hmm.
[00:21] <Waitstate> Let's find a lift shaft.
[00:22] <Earshot> I'm not reading anything either, Waitstate.
[00:22] * Avalanche looks around the station, not being especially much help at the moment.
[00:22] <Apocrypha> Well, um, I can tell you one thing.
[00:22] * Outreach looks around "Perhaps there are wounded on board?"
[00:22] * Apocrypha taps a sign on the corridor wall.
[00:22] * Waitstate finds what looks like a door and tries to get it open.
[00:22] <Apocrypha> This is really ancient Decepticon.
[00:22] <Waitstate> Any wounded would be long dead then...
[00:23] * Outreach looks saddened by this obvious fact.
[00:23] <Earshot> Perhaps I should look ahead, Wait?
[00:24] <Waitstate> That's a good idea.
[00:24] * Apocrypha pores over the text.
[00:24] <Waitstate> someone help me with his door?
[00:24] <Apocrypha> Hang on.
[00:24] * Apocrypha clears her vocal subprocessor.
[00:25] * Earshot transforms to moth mode, and starts biting at the door, consuming its matter.
[00:25] <Avalanche> I could pull it off...
[00:25] * Apocrypha says something in Ancient Decepticon.
[00:25] <Chameleon> I could blow it up.
[00:25] [narration] The door before the Away Team opens slowly and grindingly.
[00:27] <Apocrypha> I think I can get us through these doors now.
[00:27] <Waitstate> What'd you do?
[00:28] <Apocrypha> I, um, said "open embarkment door".
[00:28] * Earshot finishes eating a hole through the door, transforming back and standing in front of Waitstate. "There ya go, sir."
[00:28] <Avalanche> That seems straightforward enough.
[00:28] <Apocrypha> For all we know, uh, the other doors might just open anyway.
[00:29] <Waitstate> That probably won't be nescesary again Earshot, but thanks.
[00:29] <Apocrypha> It's in pretty good shape. The base.
[00:29] * Outreach looks about, "Sir? What exactly are we looking for?"
[00:30] <Waitstate> Not entirely sure. A command center would be nice to start with. We can probably access what we need from there, or at least find it.
[00:31] * Waitstate motions Earshot through the door.
[00:31] <Apocrypha> This could take forever.
[00:31] <Apocrypha> Where are we headed, exactly, anyway?
[00:31] * Earshot walks through the door, gun in hand, looking about "Sir, I'll go search ahead"
[00:32] <Waitstate> I'm hoping to find a lift, or at least a shaft, to the command area.
[00:32] <Apocrypha> I hope we don't need guns.
[00:33] * Avalanche follows everybody silently, looking around as he walks.
[00:33] <Waitstate> Apoc, I'll need your translation skills to check for something to get us up there.
[00:33] <Apocrypha> These wallplates aren't very, uh, helpful.
[00:33] <Apocrypha> I don't think they expected anyone who didn't know what they were doing to, um, BE here.
[00:34] <Apocrypha> Sounds like there's an emergency stairwell up ahead a half-mile or so.
[00:34] <Apocrypha> That means elevators, a lot of the time.
[00:34] * Earshot scurries ahead.
[00:34] <Waitstate> I can't find anything useful to try and connect to. This tech is so old that it's almost unrecognizable.
[00:35] * Chameleon and Ghoststalker just follow the others and keep quiet for now.
[00:35] <Apocrypha> It's older than me, anyway.
[00:36] <Apocrypha> And weird. It doesn't really, um, you know...jibe with most tech from back then.
[00:36] <Waitstate> if you recognize anything that might have an active datastream, let me know.
[00:37] <Apocrypha> Should we start walking?
[00:37] <Waitstate> sounds like a plan
[00:37] * Apocrypha transforms.
[00:38] * Waitstate does also, popping open his high-beams.
[00:38] * Apocrypha starts cruising along.
[00:38] <Apocrypha> ...hey...
[00:38] * Avalanche follows suit, finding the hallway a little narrower than he likes, but ah well.
[00:38] * Waitstate drives along.
[00:39] <Waitstate> see something Apoc?
[00:39] <Jak> *from driver's compartment* Waitaminute. Why is the artificial gravity on, anyway?
[00:39] <Waitstate> This place is obviously powered. No clue why the lights are out though.
[00:39] * Outreach follows behind Wait.
[00:40] <Jak> Maybe we ARE gonna need guns.
[00:50] [narration] The Away Team drives along for ten minutes.
[00:50] * Earshot pops his moth head out of a far off doorway "Hey guys! I might have found something!"
[00:50] <Avalanche> Spooky.
[00:50] * Waitstate accellerates ahead.
[00:50] <Waitstate> what'd you find?
[00:51] * Chameleon and Ghoststalker run after the others, having not switched to alt modes.
[00:52] * Apocrypha pulls up to Earshot's doorway and transforms.
[00:53] * Earshot transforms to robot mode, pointing at the only powered system in the room "Looks like something from Ziggurah's workshop....looks like a data archive processor to me."
[00:54] * Avalanche pulls up behind everybody and TFs.
[00:54] * Waitstate walks up to it, examining it with a flash beam...
[00:54] * Outreach transforms next to Avalanche.
[00:55] <Waitstate> I can't get a very good read, but I think if I put my data probe here maybe I can take a peek...
[00:56] <Apocrypha> Well, the sooner we know where we're going, uh, the better.
[00:56] * Waitstate puts a small electronic device on the side and gets a glazed look on his face, concentrating.
[00:57] <Waitstate> Definitely an active data stream... I think- yes, the protocols match up with some I came across during an archaeological dig. I'm in.
[00:58] * Avalanche looks around the room, careful not to touch anything.
[00:58] * Waitstate lights up a screen with what he sees.
[00:59] <Waitstate> Apoc, you're going to have to help me here. I can't read a word of it.
[00:59] <Apocrypha> Okay, give me a minute. I'm still not very fluent in this stuff.
[00:59] * Outreach stands in the doorway, looking around, looking apprehensive
[01:00] <Apocrypha> Uh, a lot of this is just, uh, housekeeping stuff. Gravity on, degauss on, primary lighting off, inertial dampers on...
[01:00] * Earshot looks about, scratching his head...
[01:00] <Waitstate> Anything about a map?
[01:01] <Apocrypha> I'm uh, wondering if there's some way we can trace the data back to, you know, a junction for this level, or something.
[01:01] <Waitstate> easy. But I'll need a layout for it to mean anything.
[01:02] <Apocrypha> I don't know. I'm not really a computer specialist. Most of the actual data is just text and that's all.
[01:02] <Earshot> Junction?
[01:02] * Ghoststalker wanders around in the room, observing carefully.
[01:03] * Waitstate starts poking around the system.
[01:04] <Waitstate> aha! got something.
[01:04] <Apocrypha> Will it get us where we're going?
[01:05] <Waitstate> I found a lift. it's down the corridor, to the left.
[01:05] <Apocrypha> Then, um, let's go?
[01:05] * Avalanche nods.
[01:05] <Waitstate> I found the command deck, too. if you can read the controls, I can input the destination. It looks like there's power.
[01:06] * Outreach stands near Ghost, his toolkit in hand. "I do not like this place...gives me the surges....."
[01:06] <Apocrypha> Maybe this won't be so hard after all.
[01:07] <Apocrypha> Could, um, even be a good thing that the power's all still running.
[01:07] <Waitstate> You obviously have never watched much Earth television.
[01:07] * Waitstate disengages.
[01:07] <Waitstate> Come on, this way.
[01:07] * Ghoststalker looks coldly at Outreach. "Then you won't like being near me, either. I give death to others."
[01:08] * Apocrypha comes on that way.
[01:08] * Waitstate leads on.
[01:09] * Avalanche follows.
[01:09] * Chameleon follows and Ghoststalker follow too.
[01:09] * Avalanche doesn't especially like the feel of this place.
[01:10] * Outreach looks angrily at Ghost. "The abilty to hand out death is not something to brag about."
[01:10] * Earshot follows Waitstate.
[01:10] * Waitstate gets to the lift door.
[01:10] <Ghoststalker> I wasn't bragging, merely informing you.
[01:10] * Apocrypha crosses her arms and keeps glancing back over her shoulder.
[01:10] <Waitstate> Hm... control panel
[01:11] <Apocrypha> Oh, okay. Uh...
[01:11] <Waitstate> I got this one.
[01:11] <Apocrypha> Oh? Okay.
[01:11] * Waitstate hits the biggest button and the doors open.
[01:11] <Outreach> Different word...doesn't matter. Inflicting death is horrid.
[01:11] * Waitstate waves everyone in.
[01:11] * Apocrypha enters.
[01:11] <Waitstate> It's the one inside that we need to worry about.
[01:12] <Apocrypha> Okay. Here we go.
[01:12] <Apocrypha> Where did you say the command deck was?
[01:12] <Avalanche> I forgot to ask this before, but...we DID scan this station for big scary monsters before boarding, right?
[01:13] <Waitstate> We could barely scan the station, much less the insides, unfortunately.
[01:13] <Apocrypha> The controls aren't labelled by location, just by deck and section.
[01:14] <Waitstate> Yes, I have coordinates.
[01:14] <Apocrypha> What are they?
[01:14] * Earshot stands near Waitstate, looking about "I can't even get a full scan of this level alone..."
[01:14] <Avalanche> So...no reliable info on the big scary monster front. Yay.
[01:14] <Waitstate> deck 4, sector 3, section 9.
[01:15] <Apocrypha> Okay. Let me just...um....hrm.
[01:15] <Apocrypha> It looks like we have to change cars once we get up to deck 20.
[01:15] <Apocrypha> There's a transit sort of hub there.
[01:17] * Apocrypha assumes that's okay and punches in the order.
[01:17] * Waitstate nods an affirmative.
[01:17] [narration] The acceleration is rapid.
[01:18] <Avalanche> Eek.
[01:18] [narration] The lift stops.
[01:18] * Waitstate holds on to a hand rail, lurching as the ride comes to a sudden end.
[01:19] [narration] * The doors open.
[01:19] [narration] * The room is full of pirates.
[01:19] <Waitstate> I'm glad I don't have a stomach... oh crap.
[01:19] <Keel-Haul> Avast.
[01:20] * Avalanche takes a defensive stance immediately.
[01:20] * Waitstate instinctively pulls out his sabre, but has no room to activate it in the cramped lift.
[01:20] * Earshot steadies his Moth Head's pistol, charging it.
[01:20] * Keel-Haul is joined by five other pirates of various size and shape, all looking dirty and mean.
[01:21] * Outreach looks suprised at the pirates, almost dropping his tools.
[01:21] <Waitstate> You! How-
[01:21] <Keel-Haul> Arr, partly luck.
[01:21] <Outreach> Good Primus!
[01:22] <Ramshackle> An' a-partly th' cloakering device ye used te' hide us from their sensorers, arrrr.
[01:22] <Keel-Haul> Aye. And partly that.
[01:22] <Keel-Haul> Anyhow, we've beaten you up here, and now we'll be a-beatin' ye UP here.
[01:23] * Various pirates laugh or groan.
[01:23] <Waitstate> Not if we can help it!
[01:23] <Keel-Haul> I figured ye'd say that. Prepare to -
[01:23] * Waitstate does one of those defensive roll things out of the lift, into the room, and finishes in a defensive stance, sabre lit.
[01:23] * Avalanche pulls out that nice gun he's been keeping on him since the Winter fiasco.
[01:23] * Apocrypha reluctantly pulls her guns.
[01:23] *VOICE* Now, now, now.
[01:24] * Outreach takes a small laser pistol out of his tool kit, aiming it badly at the pirates
[01:24] * Earshot charges his sonic emittors.
[01:24] *VOICE* This simply will not DO. If there's any KILLING to be done aboard this station, then I will be the one to do it.
[01:24] * Keel-Haul looks around in shock.
[01:24] * Waitstate looks nonplussed at the creepy disembodied voice. O_o
[01:24] * Outreach looks around "Huh?"
[01:25] <Waitstate> What sort of trick are you pulling, pirate?
[01:25] [narration] The wall on either side of the room switches to show a distinctly unbalanced-looking white Cybertronic face.
[01:25] <Keel-Haul> Ye cannot expect me to fall for that, can ye?
[01:25] <Avalanche> Eek.
[01:26] *VOICE* I assure each of you that the other is not responsible for me. I am solely responsible for me, and I will soon be responsible for you - DYING!
[01:26] *VOICE* HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
[01:26] *VOICE* By the way, no running.
[01:26] [narration] The lift doors lining the room all slam shut.
[01:26] * Avalanche jumps.
[01:27] <Waitstate> Shit.
[01:27] <Plankor> Aw, poop deck.
[01:27] <Chameleon> *quietly* I swear I saw a movie like this once...
[01:27] * Earshot attempts to eat away at one of the doors.
[01:28] <Keel-Haul> What do ye want with us, head?
[01:28] * Apocrypha whispers to Outreach. "This, um, is bad."
[01:28] * Outreach gulps, nodding to Apoc.
[01:29] *VOICE* My name is Degrade. I am the commander of this Matrixforsaken place. Commander - and sole inhabitant. Oh, it took some doing, but I made sure of that.
[01:29] * Waitstate backs up to a wall, data probe in hand, surreptitiously looking for a datastream to access.
[01:29] *VOICE* I hope you prove more sport than the rabble Deathsaurus left me with.
[01:29] * Avalanche pops open his shoulder racks, just to make himself feel better.
[01:30] *VOICE* First, what I am going to do is pump this room full of horrible gas which will eat through your exostructures.
[01:31] <Waitstate> Go for it, slaggard.
[01:31] * Pegleg growls something incoherent and attacks the wall with his sword.
[01:31] * Waitstate grins and all the doors slam open.
[01:31] *VOICE* Amusing, but futile. You will shortly see that - what?
[01:31] <Avalanche> That sounds painful.
[01:31] <Waitstate> everybody, OUT!
[01:31] * Keel-Haul and the pirates run for the door at the end of the hall.
[01:32] * Waitstate pushes his crew toward the nearest lift.
[01:32] * Chameleon and Ghoststalker run.
[01:32] <Apocrypha> He can probably control the lifts, Wait!
[01:32] <Apocrypha> Get to the door! We're close to the command deck! It's only a dozen levels up!
[01:32] <Avalanche> Only a dozen, huh?
[01:32] <Waitstate> damn! course change people!
[01:33] * Waitstate runs to the door Apocrypha indicated.
[01:33] * Chameleon and Ghoststalker change course then run again.
[01:33] * Outreach follows Waitstate, Earshot flying behind them.
[01:33] *VOICE* You aren't going to get far, I promise you.
[01:34] * Apocrypha transforms and dives awkwardly through the door.
[01:34] * Avalanche follows whoever seems to have the best idea where they're going.
[01:35] * Earshot gives the voice the finger before diving after Apocrypha, Outreach not far behind him.
[01:36] <Apocrypha> WhatarewegonnaDO?
[01:36] * Waitstate leads his group through the corridors, overriding the locks as he goes.
[01:36] <Waitstate> I'm getting the hang of this place I think.
[01:36] <Avalanche> Good. These doors look pretty solid.
[01:36] * Keel-Haul and the pirates find themselves running essentially neck-and-neck with Waitstate and his crew.
[01:37] <Keel-Haul> Badmouth, transform!
[01:37] * Keel-Haul's parrot turns into a gun.
[01:37] <Keel-Haul> Arr, where could that no-good monkey have gotten to...
[01:40] * Keel-Haul stops running.
[01:40] <Keel-Haul> Planetlubbers! Halt!
[01:40] <Keel-Haul> We can't run from this maniac forever. We need a plan of some kind.
[01:40] <Keel-Haul> We can settle our score later.
[01:40] * Earshot shrugs at Apocrpha.
[01:40] <Waitstate> What would you suggest? *glares*
[01:40] * Outreach just looks solumn "I have no idea..."
[01:41] <Keel-Haul> We need to be findin' this "Degrade" and stringing him up.
[01:41] <Waitstate> Brilliant.
[01:42] <Waitstate> Any ideas HOW?
[01:42] <Keel-Haul> Instead of runnin' like cowards, why not regroup and force our way to him? We can FIGHT!
[01:42] <Keel-Haul> At least we'll be on the offensive then.
[01:42] <Plankor> AN' I can blast through any doors he wants to lock on us, no prob. Uh, arr.
[01:43] <Apocrypha> We're going to die, aren't we?
[01:43] <Waitstate> I don't plan on letting that happen.
[01:43] <Keel-Haul> Ye will if ye stay here.
[01:43] * Earshot shrugs "Probably..."
[01:44] <Keel-Haul> Who'll come with me? Crewman or neutralist, all of ye be invited.
[01:44] <Keel-Haul> We'll make it there and show him the cut of our jibs!
[01:44] [narration] Most of the pirates step towards Keel-Haul.
[01:45] <Avalanche> I suppose I could help...
[01:45] <Avalanche> I can blow things up good.
[01:45] [narration] The female pirate stands well away from Keel-Haul's group.
[01:46] <Winch> Your words be big, but your plan be weak.
[01:46] * Avalanche shrugs.
[01:47] <Avalanche> My place is not to plan.
[01:47] * Avalanche grins.
[01:47] <Keel-Haul> That be it? I expected at least the so-called warriors among your group to join me.
[01:47] <Waitstate> Look, I'm fine with fighting, but I think we have a better chance trying for the command deck.
[01:49] * Chameleon joins the fighting group. So does Ghoststalker.
[01:49] <Waitstate> Cham, Ghost, what do you think you're doing?
[01:49] * Earshot joins the fighting group as well.
[01:50] * Outreach hangs back.
[01:50] <Keel-Haul> All right!
[01:50] <Keel-Haul> Ye may not all be so bad after all.
[01:50] <Apocrypha> This can't be good.
[01:50] <Waitstate> Earshot? You too?
[01:50] <Waitstate> We have to stick together!
[01:50] <Keel-Haul> It be the only way. If'n the rest of ye survive, we'll see ye when we've sent this madman to sleep with the space-fish!
[01:51] * Keel-Haul waves his team onward with his energy-cutlass.
[01:51] <Ghoststalker> We'll be of more use fighting, rather than standing around. It's what we're trained to do, after all.
[01:52] <Waitstate> *sigh* fine. You pirates, you with me then? I need all the help I can get in case that lunatic finds us.
[01:52] * Keel-Haul, most of the pirates, Avalanche, Earshot, Chameleon, and Ghoststalker head out through a doorway newly-opened by Plankor's enormous gunbarrel.
[01:52] * Winch and a pirate tank named Pegleg stay behind.
[01:53] <Apocrypha> Well...um...
[01:53] <Apocrypha> NOW what do we do, Wait?
[01:53] * Outreach stands next to Waitstate, patting him on the shoulder. "They're just trying to find a way out of here, sir. This is what they were built to do..."
[01:54] <Waitstate> We continue to the command deck. It's only a few decks up by now.
[01:54] <Apocrypha> Okay. So, uh...
[01:54] [narration] The sound of weaponsfire comes from the direction the other team went.
[01:54] <Apocrypha> ...which way?
[01:54] <Waitstate> This way *opens a door* and I suggest we hurry.
[01:55] <Winch> I don't know that I be any better off with your group, but the others've left, and I don't like the idea of bein' here alone. Come on, Pegleg.
[01:55] * The pirates follow.
[01:55] * Apocrypha sighs, checks her gun, and heads off after Wait.
[01:56] * Outreach sighs, following Wait.
[01:56] * Avalanche follows the pirates around.
[01:57] * Waitstate seals the door behind him, and rushes ahead to the lead.
[01:58] [narration] Several decks later, we arrive at the door to the command deck.
[01:59] <Avalanche> So, um...do you guys have any idea where this guy is hiding? I mean, what if he's, like, IN the station? Y'know.
[01:59] * Earshot looks about. "I'm picking up alot of activity, but nothing I can pinpoint."
[02:00] <Waitstate> Actually, I'm somewhat afraid he's behind this door. Ready to go inside?
[02:00] * Waitstate probes the door to open it.
[02:01] <Apocrypha> ANOTHER trap?
[02:01] <Apocrypha> I haven't enjoyed any of the ones we've had to bypass, fight, or escape from so far.
[02:02] <Apocrypha> Okay, let's GO!
[02:02] * Waitstate keys the door open.
[02:03] <Apocrypha> ...oh, no. What if he's in there?
[02:03] * Outreach follows waitstate, looking from side to side.
[02:03] * Gearlock stayed behind to uhh, guard the shuttle or something.
[02:03] * Waitstate steps inside.
[02:03] [narration] Metal tendrils snake out from inside and drag Waitstaite's surprised group in.
[02:03] <Waitstate> Slag!
[02:03] * Waitstate is tripped and dragged!
[02:03] <Apocrypha> Oh, this is never a good sign...
[02:04] * Apocrypha is whipped upside-down and hangs helplessly from the ceiling.
[02:04] * Outreach yells out, trying the shake himself free.
[02:04] * Jak separates, drops, and is grabbed by another tentacle before he hits the ground.
[02:05] [narration] The tentacles finish incapacitating Wait's fairly unthreatening group.
[02:05] * Degrade sneers at them from in front of a gigantic control console.
[02:05] * Waitstate hacks at the tentacles with his sabre, trying to get a bead on them with his cutting lasers.
[02:06] <Degrade> Well-played. Well-played, indeed.
[02:06] <Degrade> You made it further than the other group, at least. Score one point for brains over brawn.
[02:06] <Degrade> But as I have already asserted, I am in FULL control here.
[02:06] <Waitstate> What's happened to them??
[02:07] * Outreach's hand slides in, revealing a built in laser scalpel, he fires it at the Degrade thingie.
[02:07] <Degrade> Oh, I don't really remember. I lost track of them - ouch - somewhere in the room full of whirling blades, I think.
[02:07] [narration] A tentacle yanks Outreach's scalpel out at the roots.
[02:08] <Jak> Don't you ever shut up? I mean, seriously. You've had ninety bazillion years to yourself, and you STILL like to hear that voice?
[02:09] <Degrade> What a repulsive little organism. And you let these...things...sit in your HEADS? It's enough to make me ashamed to call myself a Cybertron.
[02:09] <Degrade> At any rate, back to the killing you.
[02:09] * Outreach screams out in pain as his hand is pulled from his socket, and he uses his other hand to fire his small laser pistol "I will not allow you to hurt my comrades, construct!"
[02:09] * Waitstate gets a lock and severs the main tentacle that's holding him, then starts extricating himself from the others.
[02:09] <Degrade> I'm going to START - that's quite futile, I assure you - by tearing your limbs out.
[02:09] <Degrade> Then I'll-
[02:10] [narration] A massive barrage of weaponsfire annihilates the other entrance to the command room, as well as Degrade and most of the wall behind him.
[02:10] <Keel-Haul> I tip my hat to ye.
[02:10] * Waitstate shields his eyes with his free hand.
[02:10] <Keel-Haul> Ye've managed to beat us to the prize, I see.
[02:11] * Keel-Haul and his team walk, battered but unbeaten, through the door.
[02:11] * Waitstate tears through the remaining tendrils, freeing himself now that Degrade is incapacitated.
[02:11] <Chameleon> That was exciting.
[02:11] * Avalanche starts shooting the tentacles from the walls, freeing people.
[02:12] * Earshot uses his sonics to crumple the tentacles to nothing.
[02:12] <Keel-Haul> It was a grand battle indeed.
[02:12] * Outreach falls to the ground, gripping his gnarled forarm.
[02:12] <Keel-Haul> Speaking of battles, I have some unfinished business with ye, Captain...
[02:12] * Ghoststalker just stands there and lets the others worry about the tentacles.
[02:12] <Avalanche> I dunno WHERE I'm gonna find more missles for these launchers now...
[02:12] * Keel-Haul points his sword at Waitstate.
[02:13] <Waitstate> Indeed you do *counters with his sabre*
[02:13] <Keel-Haul> A duel.
[02:13] <Keel-Haul> No interference.
[02:13] <Keel-Haul> If I win, your crew, your ship and this station are yours.
[02:13] <Keel-Haul> If ye best me, then the same.
[02:13] <Waitstate> Have it your way. You heard him people. If his men make a move, take em out.
[02:14] <Keel-Haul> Stay your hands, men.
[02:14] <Keel-Haul> HAVE AT YE!
[02:14] * Keel-Haul slashes at Wait.
[02:14] * Avalanche eyes the pirates warily.
[02:14] * Waitstate lunges in, deflecting the blow easily.
[02:14] * Jak sits on Apocrypha's prone body and watches.
[02:14] * Waitstate twirls around with a slash of his own.
[02:15] * Chameleon is finding this all quite amusing.
[02:15] * Keel-Haul bats the strike down and throws a punch at Wait's torso.
[02:15] * Waitstate dodges, getting clipped slightly.
[02:15] * Outreach hodgepodgedly fixes his hand, sighing, looking about.
[02:15] <Waitstate> *oof* that's the way we're playing, eh?
[02:15] <Keel-Haul> The stakes be high.
[02:15] * Waitstate throws out a low kick across Keel-Haul's legs.
[02:16] <Avalanche> I didn't think that was in the rules...
[02:16] * Keel-Haul swings high at Wait and catches the kick across the shins, stumbling forward.
[02:16] * Waitstate rolls and slashes across Keel-Haul's exposed back.
[02:17] * Keel-Haul narrowly ducks the attack, and spins to face Wait again.
[02:18] * Waitstate brings up his sabre, going for Keel-Haul's neck.
[02:18] * Keel-Haul parries into a lock, pulling close to Wait and leaning on their entangled swords.
[02:18] <Keel-Haul> This be not in the rules, either.
[02:19] * Keel-Haul stretches out a hand, into which flies Badmouth the parrot, transforming into gun mode.
[02:19] <Waitstate> crap!
[02:19] * Keel-Haul slams the muzzle into Wait's torso and blasts him with searing flame.
[02:19] * Waitstate activates jump jets and propells himself backwards, lessening the impact slightly.
[02:19] <Waitstate> AUGH!
[02:19] <Keel-Haul> A good fight! But it ends here!
[02:20] * Keel-Haul charges at Wait, sword raised.
[02:20] <Waitstate> DIE YOU RUST EATING SLAGHEAP!
[02:20] * Waitstate fires a cutting laser directly into Keel-Haul's face.
[02:20] * Keel-Haul reflexively blocks with his off hand...
[02:20] [narration] ...which is full of his Targetmaster flamethrower partner.
[02:20] * Badmouth's fuel tanks detonate.
[02:21] <Keel-Haul> SHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAK!
[02:21] * Keel-Haul's head and hand disappear in a fireball.
[02:21] * Chameleon laughs, then realises there's still pirates in the room.
[02:22] <Pirates> Well...ye win.
[02:22] * Waitstate falls back, singed.
[02:22] <Plankor> ...NOW what?
[02:22] <Winch> The ship. We get back to the ship.
[02:22] <Ramshackle> Ye speakin' th' truth.
[02:22] <Ramshackle> Yarrr.
[02:23] * Pirates cloak.
[02:23] <Jak> Well, I guess we win.
[02:23] <Waitstate> I think we did.
[02:23] <Jak> Say...didn't they have a lot of friends?
[02:23] * Waitstate stands unsteadily.
[02:23] <Waitstate> yes.
[02:23] * Waitstate points to a large viewscreen.
[02:24] * Waitstate sees the Freedom, with the pirate ship attached to it.
[02:24] <Jak> What's the Earth-phrase? Oh, yeah. Hey, Waitstate. Reach out and touch someone.
[02:24] <Waitstate> Slag.
[02:24] * Apocrypha transforms.
[02:24] <Waitstate> Sure. Find me the comm system.
[02:24] * Apocrypha runs up to the mostly-intact computer arrays.
[02:24] <Waitstate> maybe you can install a translation patch on the station's systems from here.
[02:25] <Apocrypha> Maybe, if, um, you can write one...
[02:25] <Apocrypha> ...ah. Here we go.
[02:25] * Apocrypha brings up a series of all-text dialogue boxes.
[02:25] <Apocrypha> I, uh, think you're on.
[02:25] * Waitstate comms.
[02:28] <Waitstate> Apoc, do you have a translation matrix file for this? I can merge it with a patch program.
[02:28] * Outreach finds his diembodied hand, picking it up.
[02:29] * Gearlock meanwhile is still guarding the shuttle.
[02:29] <Apocrypha> Um, give me a second to compile one...
[02:29] <Waitstate> oh look, they're leaving.
[02:29] * Apocrypha perches on the remnants of the handrail and glazes over.
[02:30] <Apocrypha> Okay, done.
[02:30] * Apocrypha runs over to hand it off to Wait.
[02:31] * Waitstate installs the matrix, then transfers the patch. The displays blink over into modern Cybertronian.
[02:31] <Waitstate> Heyyy... this looks like a really BIG gun.
[02:31] * Waitstate starts toying with the controls.
[02:36] * Waitstate fires!
[02:36] <Waitstate> WOOHOO! Now THAT's a gun!
[02:36] <Avalanche> Not bad!
[02:36] <Apocrypha> How can something like this have been a secret for so long?
[02:36] <Waitstate> the shield technology is brilliant.
[02:36] <Avalanche> 'Cause there was a looney guy protecting it?
[02:37] * Chameleon wonders if he can supercharge a melta to do something like that big gun.
[02:38] <Avalanche> So what are we even going to DO with something like this? I mean, this doesn't exactly seem to be the sort of thing that LONAC's all about having.
[02:38] * Gearlock watches explodey. Neat.
[02:39] <Waitstate> I don't know. But now that it's under our control, I'm eager to learn its secrets.
