Session Start: Fri Nov 09 00:36:32 2001 * Restore changes topic to '-=2001.313=- RP on' * Roadkill is on the bridge, doing not much. * Thrashmane sleeps on the Observation deck, curled up in lion mode * Diablo isn't particularly happy at all *to Wait* Well, the repair work in Medbay is complete excellent... any word on its occupant? * Sunspot is sitting on the obs deck sketching design stuff while Moonstone plays nearby. * Hyperion is on the bridge * Lifeblood is...somewhere that won't conflict with the story. * Switchbox continues to explore the ship. Med team hasn't begun any repair to him yet, they decided Medbay would come first and helped out there * Splitwit turns a corner and sees Switchbox wandering aimlessly. So I'd say he's still badly busted up. Good idea to stick him in that drone body, Restore and Welder wouldn't have been able to take him oterwise Oh, hi. *pretends not to hear 'Box and walks right into him* we need to do something about Hellfire. Surely there's SOME sort of option Egads. Who you be? Er... hello? I'm Switchbox. New here. Who would you be? The name's Splitwit, pard'ner. * Splitwit tips an imaginary hat to Switchbox. I know our med team is pretty efficient, but maybe they did miss something * Switchbox nods, apprehensively. Where're you headed? Where are -you- headed? * Waitstate pulls up medbay on the main viewer. "Restore, are you available?" *looks up at the monitor* Right now? Yeah, something I can do for you? Well, I suppose I asked first. I was headed to the bridge. Ah, groovy. I'll show you the way... or do you already know? Do you have anything at all new on the Hellfire case? I hate keeping Diablo locked up, but Hellfire is entirely too unstable and has entirely too much control I think I've got it worked out, but if you're headed that way I'd not mind at all. Righto, then. I'm afraid not. At least... * Splitwit marches off towards the bridge. Well what? No. Not really * Switchbox follows, a step behind. If you don't mind me asking, how long have you been with Lonac? *Looks at Switch from the corner of his eye* Why arn't you marching, boy? tell me Restore. If there's any avenues that havent been explored, we need to try them *Sigh* I didn't want to to suggest it, but there might be a way. But, Well, it would mean killing Hellfire. And you know I don't like to have to kill, no matter the reasons... And I've been here oh, a little over a year now. * Switchbox snaps out of his mild state of bewilderment. No, neither do I. But it would be a much greater evil to let him loose. Hellfire has killed countless others already. If we don't eliminate him, we might as well be killing Diablo And even that aside, there's a very high risk factor involved with the idea * Switchbox begins more or less marching, just to be friendly * Gearwheel sits on the bar Now you're on the trolly! So... what's your function? * Gearwheel watches if another's bot's in the bar Used to be security. Data security, for the most part. Enctyption, organizing couriers, borign stuff like that. What do you do around here? I think I should show you exactly what this idea is... Conference room? hm, alright. * Restore heads for the CR * Waitstate does as well, after excusing himself * Roadkill monitors the comm channels, and searches the waves for new music on the side * Restore arrives at the CR after a short walk and lift ride, and enters Me? Mainly, get drunk off my ass. * Waitstate also arrives Aside from that, I'm the manager of the weaponry department 'round here. Nice combination, aye? * Switchbox blinks I didn't want to give this idea any more thought than I had already Well, I certainly feel safer. * Restore moves to the main console and activates it, bring up data on the Waste Don't you worry, I know my way around a gun. The Waste? Does Lonac do much fighting? *sketchsketchsketch* * Thrashmane leans over Sunspot's shoulder. "What are you drawing there?" Look! It's a bunny! * Sunspot holds up the picture. There is a small chance, that given the right tweaking, Lifeblood and I could develope a strain of the Waste targetted specifically for Hellfire That there's a piece of art, Sunspot. Yay! Thanks, kitty! * Thrashmane grins That sounds dangerous... does Lifeblood know about this? Somehow I dont think he'd go for it. * Thrashmane hops over the couch and plops down next to Sunspot * Drillmaster joins Sunspot and crew Hello! Hello, mind if I join you? * Moonstone chirps at Drillmaster. Greets, Drillmaster. Hello there Moonstone Take a seat. Hence the high risk. Lifeblood has mentioned previously that it is possible, I've never asked whether he'd be willing to do it though. It isn't something *I* even want to do, after all Hello Sunspot, Thrashmane What are we doing? * Drillmaster takes a seat Ahh, this must be the bridge. Thanks for the assist! * Splitwit snaps out of it. I drew a bunny! Er, yeah! This be bridge. It's a cute bunny! * Gearwheel goes to the bridge...slowly * Chameleon wakes up to find Scarab staring down at him from the ceiling of his quarters It is very risky, an accelerated form of Waste transmitted via a small focused beam, designed to attack Hellfire's spark only. Of course, there's every chance it could get to Diablo's as well I see, I suppose it is cute Not to mention anyone elses. hm... *looks contemplative* I don't recommend it. It -is- cute. I want you to look in to it Restore. * Restore brings up more data, showing a hypothetical proceedure being played out Hello? Does anyone know where Waitstate is? Woo! Chair time! * Switchbox reaches hte bridge door and requests entry *lets Switchbox enter* Waitstate is in a meeting right now, something wrong? * Switchbox enters the bridge * Splitwit slides in behind Switchbox Well, I don't think there's too much more looking into it TO do, but, I'll get on it... Oh, not at all. whenever he's not busy, I'd like to talk to him about finding me a job aboard this ship. I feel bad mooching off of you. You sure about this? Guns, my friend. Get into the guns. Heh, I mooched off this lot for quite a while. ;) Guns would be good. I'm responsible enough. Heh, don't. Most of the crew 'mooch', anyway. * Sunspot sketches some flowers aroudn the bunny. * Switchbox eyes Splitwit. Hey, I could use an assistant in that case I'll let him know *cough* And I'm sure we could use someone responsible. It's the one thing I'm good for. Faboo. Make sure it can be done with a minimum of risk. We don't need to become another plague ship, and I don't want to lose Diablo. I don't know how low risk anyone could make the Waste, but I'll see what I can do... * Gearwheel stands and says hi! to Switchbox * Splitwit looks around. "So ah, you wanna see the boom-room or somthin'?" So, Splitwit, where were you headed before I ran into you? Guns would be good. * Restore returns to medbay would this procedure make the previously developed countermeasures ineffective? *Grins* I think I'm gonna like you, Big Box. * Moonstone walks over to Thrashmane. I don't know, but I'll bet Lifeblood would. Oh hey, it's the dragon *petpetpetp* So how often will we need the guns? Do we really get into that much fighting? * Splitwit leads Switchbox through the halls and lifts and stuff. Well, not really. We've got a couple of enemies, though. * Moonstone chirps happily at Thrashy. well, coordinate with him, of course. A foregone conclusion. What kinds of enemies? There's two groups, mainly. This kinda... Anti-LONAC group of mercs or somthing called Spectral Death. We haven't heard from them since we killed their leader, I think. * Gearwheel goes to the medbay to bother restore, and other things! You think you killed their leader, or you think they're leaving you alone now? And there's these other 'Con Skyraider guys who've got somthing--door number two there--wierd against us. Did a number on us recently. * Restore moves through medbay and into medlab Lifeblood, you busy? Not particularly. Why do you ask? * Gearwheel knocks the medbay door Lovely. I think I've had my fill of Skyraiders. You might remember quite some time ago, you mentioned the possibility that the Waste could be designed to attack just a singular organism * Splitwit extends a little reciever from one of his ear-plates and continues, "Usually we us our own built-in weapons.. I intend to change that via making sure we have all of our extra weapon systems and units fully functional at a moments notice. Give us as much of an upper hand we can get." * medbay door opens for Gearwheel hello!! anyone there? Yes. ups... hello medbot restore! Waitstate wants us to look into it further. To use on Hellfire Well, I'll be glad to help. ... Woah, that was wierd. I knew what I was talking about. Anyway, we're here. *opens door and picks up his enercoffee* To use? Restore isn't here right now, she's talking with Lifeblood, can I help you? I hate to ask so many questions.... what was that thing on your head? What thing? ups... hello medbot lifeblood! To destroy his spark, specifically the thing. IT popped up from the thing on the side of your head, and did a thing. Lifeblood sin't here either, they're both in another room... Can I help you? Do you need medical attention? Waitstate wants us to USE the Waste? I dunno, but it looks sharp. nooo... It does do that. Against my better judgement, but yes. Anyway. This here's the weapons department. I need to give the lonac membership pad to the captain * Splitwit looks proud * Moonstone curls up beside Thrashmane and takes a nap. Nice stash. * Thrashmane continues to pet Moonstone as he sleeps "Cute lil' guy y'built here, Sunspot." Ooooh. You need to go to the bridge for that, it's one level down from here :) Are these all communal, or are there guns here that I shouldn't touch? The Waste has finally been eradicated. * Thrashmane pats Sunny on the head "Talented girl, you are." :) Countless lives have been lost. ohhh, thanx helpful medbot... They're all unnarmed and unloaded. Hee, thanks! He does seem to like you a lot. He's nicer to you than he is to anyone else that's not me. Does he leave a mess? And now Waitstate wants us to resurrect it simply because Hellfire is problematic? Buuut.... with a push of a button here on my magical panel here *motions to the security desk by the door* I can arm and load them all in about a minute. Only if he's tyring to find something. ;) * Switchbox shoulders a nice, hefty rocket launcher Heh, there's probably a reason for that. I don't like it either, but Waitstate wants Hellfire's threat ended. Keeping him alive would be putting more lives in danger. That's a Ruger P-300. Damn nice for a terran model. * Gearwheel goes again to the bridge! Impressive. Efficient loading system you've got here, too. *I* think it's because he knows I like you, and he trusts my judgement. And there is no other way? * Powerplay works on stuff in his store * Splitwit picks up a small handgun and twirls it around. "Here's one of my personal favorite: A Charr slugthrower. Great little guy" Yeah, set the thing up myself. You mentioned a problem with having these things ready when they're needed. What's the obstacle? * Gearwheel knocks the door of the bridge and says "simon says: OPEN" Well, when we get attacked by a huge transforming warship or boarded by a ton of mercenaries, it's sometimes hard to get to where all the boomsticks are, unless you're close. Not unless we killed Diablo also. Their sparks are bonded in a way that could not be undone, and after some breif research into the concept, using the waste to eat away the portions of Hellfire's spark could do it I explained the dangers to Waitstate about it striking mroe than just Hellfire, but he still gave the go ahead. I see. And if I decline to provide my assistance...? damn door!! OPEN! * Gearwheel curses the lazy door Hrm. Findong a method of distributing them more eficiently without losing track of them will be difficult. And if we're being invaded, we'l need to ensure that our guns don't fall into enemy hands... I like the way you think. I'll think nothing of it, I'm not ordering you to help. I can do it on my own, but it will take longer without your help Though to be honest, it's not hard to find a... *picks up a rifle* a Convoy-Brand light Rail gun. We carry pretty conventional weapons *opens the door and lets Gearwheel in* Except for a couple things... *eyes dart left to right* ohh... hello there bots! *smiles* I see. * Gearwheel enters heya Gearwheel. Enjoying the Freedom so far? * Switchbox examines a few large, overwrought weapons lustfully. Assuming it works, the Waste would die along with Hellfire. * Hyperion watches Gearwheel enter hello helpful Roadkill... *waves the head and moustache* And if it does not, then the Freedom is quickly overwhelmed and destroyed, and we float until another vessel finds us, and returns us to a station. If the quarentine proceedures put in place in medbay prior to the operation fail, yes. * Waitstate remains in the conference room, looking at the data, hoping to have some sort of outsider's insight on the problem This is absurd. We are not speaking of a strain of Magellanic dust fever or neurolysthaesia or corrodia gravis. We are talking about the Waste. It is a force of nature, not a disease. ...I need to give the papers of membership to the captain. We may as well unleash the Chaos Bringer to consume Hellfire. Like it or not, this is what Waitstate wants to use to get rid of Hellfire. The only other way to be rid of him is to kill Diablo as well. And is Hellfire more of a threat than the Waste? I should not have to tell this crew of the horrors. It isn't for me to decide. But if you want to be technical, right now, Hellfire is. Aaaanyway... what do you think? So Sunspot, have any plans for later? This is not a decision that should have to be made. As it stands, I will not make it now. hey *goes to the science part of the bridge* I was thinking we'd get somthing to eat. Very well. I'll begin on my own Um...I was thinking later I might draw a pony. Snacks are good! I think I'd be happy to take this job. Well, we'll just see what the Bossbot has to say You mentioned drink. Is there anyplace on this ship where the bots meet do do that? Something we can do for you Gearwheel? You need to see someone? ...I need to give the papers of membership to the captain. * Gearwheel smiles If you will excuse me. * Lifeblood doesn't bother waiting. * Lifeblood leaves. Ah, I'll take those. I'll be sure Waitstate gets them for you * Lifeblood heads towards the observation deck. * Restore returns to medbay and enters her office to start work on the project * Splitwit presses a couple of buttons on the desk; all the weapons lock up and shut off. * Sunspot puts away her drawing stuff in preparation for going to get snacks. I haven't seen much of the crew. Where does everyone go? Observation decks, plaza, bridge.... uh, sim decks too well, where is the bar, and the lab? I'm going to watch some stars go by I'll talk to the rest of you later That sounds like a grand plan * Drillmaster leaves for the observation deck The bar is two decks up, in the plaza. The lab is offlimits to anyone who isn't command staff heh, and the junk piles? * Sunspot carefully picks up the sleepy dragon. I should probably introduce myself around. Where is this observation deck? Follow! Uh, we don't keep piles of junk actually. Though I imagine a number of the crew's quarters are kinda messy, heh heh! * Lifeblood reaches the observation deck. * Lifeblood observes. * Splitwit marches off. * Switchbox follows Heh, y'want junk, check out the storage bays, I guess. * Gearwheel says "you recycles everything" or ask Anchor. I think he collects stuff like that. * Sunspot waves to Lifeblood. * Switchbox sighs and marches Greets, Doc. * Drillmaster arrives at the observation deck. where's Anchor? * Drillmaster takes a seat near a window * Lifeblood stares into space. Probably in his quarters, or near main engineering * Line-In ejects from the comm console and transforms and the storage bays? * Splitwit and Switchbox arrive at the Observation Deck. "Hiyo!" How do any of you stand being here for so long? *Waves to the people* * Switchbox waves lazily err... the engineering ports are not restricted? Because we're working, Line-In. What are YOU doing here without authorisation? Hmm? Everyone, I'd like you to meet Switchbox *holds Switchbox's hand* He likes guns ^_^ Not all of it, Gearwheel. well, on this case, I'll go to the storage bays! * Gearwheel goes * Gearwheel whistles some old song (beverly hillbillies) * Roadkill watches Gearwheel go. Nice to meet all of you. Anything much going on? Hi there, Switchbox Uh, not much.. Just aquiring a bit of new music using the comm consoles capabilties, and I didn't just say that. Hello, Switchbox! ^.^ You can go now, Line-In * Thrashmane eyes Switchbox for a moment, then puts one arm around Sunspot * Drillmaster chuckles But!.. Great time to join Switchbox, not much goin' on right now Does the ship even have a destination at the moment? Fine then, I'll go. I'm claiming a big empty space in the plaza though! *Leaves quick* Heh, like any of Wait's protocol's would let you Uh... Does we? * Gearwheel begin the searching of useful crap on the cargo decks * Hitchhike enters Snake-Eyes' store and looks around * Goannis goes into Powerplay's arcade and starts playing a shoot 'em up game * Lightning enters the bridge to replace Roadkill Your shift is over * Powerplay watches Goannis walk in *emerging from a back room "Hi." :) Watch out for Trihorn, he's on a rampage somewhere Hey Snake-Eyes, how's business? uh.. ok.. *stands as close to the game box as possible* Slow. Could do with another open day, you know? So how are you likinmg the ship so far, Switchbox? I think we might be headed somewhere just for that reason. A little late aren't you, Lightning? Everyone seems friendly enough. Sorry, I didn't catch your name. *ahem* Oh! I'm Sunspot! And this is Thrashmane, and this little guy here is Moonstone. * Sunspot pats Moonstone's head. I'm Drill Master *to Thrashmane* That's the kitty' *to Sunspot* That's the kitty's girlfriend; *to dragon* That's the kitty's girlfriend's dragon; *To Drillmaster* That's dudeman; *To LB* And that's Doc. * Gearwheel gets some really useful crap, and begin to make a really extrange audio device Former Decepticon bombing expert actually I -said- dudeman. ... Bombs? My internal clock malfunctioned * Hyperion leaves the bridge and ends up in medbay Well, if it's ok with Roadkill, Hyperion can clock off instead, he's put in a few extra shifts lately I'd drill underground and plant bombs. Messy landminds if you will Looks like a yes to me .. Oh, the non-fun kind. *aside, to Split* is the dragon a Transformer, or a drone? You can never tell sometimes. Sunspot, your call. okay with me, I'm quite happy here. ;) * Lightning takes over Hyperion's station He's an advanced Dynamic AI. No Spark, but he's pretty smart. Does he bite? And I have a duck Not usually. * Thrashmane nods * Waitstate is suddenly interrupted from his study by an alert from the computer * Waitstate goes back to the bridge A duck? A duck He's not here right now... probably wandering around in the vents. If you see him though, his name's Launch. * Gearwheel with the strange (but functional) audiomusical device goes to the observation deck * Trihorn stampedes out of the bar The vents are infested? Right on time, boss. we're almost at the coordinates you specified A lot of the pets just wander around the ship, though Moonstone usually stays pretty close to me. Hyperion! Can I do something for you? Moonstone followed me to the bathroom once, which was sort of creepy * Gearwheel kicks the observation deck door and says "open please" Good. keep an eye on the sensors and drop out of interphase when you find our target Hey there, Geardude. Target? Well, I was wondering if it is possible for me to return to my body. It could make things easier if I am not in control of this one. What are we looking for? Yeah, if I'm not around he seems to default to Thrashy. *holding a strange apparatus made of essentially crap* heya! A salvage convoy. I picked up some leads back at our last stop What's that strange fecal device? Hm. Well, Restore is in her office if you'd like to talk to her. I assume Waitstate knows of course *looks up* Leads? err... this is a audiomusical and lighhs machine! That's fabulous! * the device is filled with wires and lights and some others ping thingies * Hyperion nods. "Alright. And no, I haven't had a chance to talk to Waitstate about this." Oooo, junk thingie... * Welder points to Restore's office Hmm. Wait, someone's comming ya. Wanna take it on bridge or in yer office? here is fine. On screen, please * Gearwheel drops the apparatus on the floor "heya all!" *smiles* *puts it onscreen* Done. * Hyperion walks over to Restore's office ah, Hyperion. Need something? * some extrange sounds, like a old explosion motor, are the next* Just wondering if there's any chance of returning to my old body. I believe it could make Diablo/Hellfire slighly more cooperative than they currently are if they can see that no-one is using it * Gearwheel press the on button and a ligh flash covers all the observation deck Wow, impressive. * Moonstone chirps. * a tall bot with large shoulders somewhat out of proportion with his arms appears onscreen on the bridge viewscreen. * the following is a big white cloud of fog * Greetings, Waitstate. I believe I have some stuff you were looking for... * Gearwheel insultes and kicks the machine Yes, I hope so at least. Heh, or it could make them both more desperate to get back into it :) It's certainly fine by me, what does Waitstate say? *the machine begin to work, and made an unexact replicate of anyone on the deck, then the music begins, and the replicates dance! Holy guacamoley, I dance like an idiot * Gearwheel heh heh *scratches the moustache* I haven't had the chance to discuss it with him yet Well, if he's fine with it, then we can do it anytime you're ready :) The sooner the better too, I'd guess So, how are we gonna do this? I can have a shuttle ready in a few minutes That works. We'll match velocity with your vessel and you can come over whenever you're ready. * Hyperion nods then leaves medbay *thriller song begin to sound* *the replicates dance like zombies* Cirrus, prepare the ship for docking * Cirrus lines up the ship and stuff * Waitstate acknowlegdes Scrapsaver and prepares to depart Roadkill, I'm assuming you want to come? Definitely. *gets up* [comm to Sunspot] We're about to visit a salvage convoy ship. We have other business there, but if you want to look in to spare bits for the ship, meet us in the launch bay Salvage ship eh? Ruse would love that Geh, I hate stuff like that. Filthy No offense to you, Sunspot [comm] Oooo, that sounds neat! I'll be right down! I'm sure it won't take too long, kitty. You go get some snacks and I'll join you when I get back. :) Sounds good :) * Thrashmane stands up and cracks his back * Sunspot makes her way down to the launch bay. *the machine has a little stop, and appear a sistem failure message* [comm] Waitstate, Drill Master told me you've got a salvage mission going. Mind if I join you? [comm] of course you don't, I'll see you in the launch bay [comm] um... right I hate him *leaves for the launch bay* Heh * the machine explodes sending Gearwheel a lot of meters back* Heh, likewise. *follows Wait to the launch bay* [comm to Wait] Is it fine with you if I return to my body? At least he doesn't have to worry about the trip being too dull then I think I'd rather it be dull ;) [comm to Hyp] umm, what? I'm sorry, you've caught me at a bad time * Sunspot arrives in the launch bay. "Hello!" * Switchbox shows up at the launch bay. "What's going on here?" I'm going on here. You chumps can stay on board. Actually, Sunspot can stick with me * Gearwheel says oof and re attach the left arm * Goannis continues to play the same arcade game despite being terrible at it [comm] Restore says she will return me to my own body as long as you're ok with it. Any problems with that idea? [comm to Hyp] None I can think of I guess. Doesn't she have to fix it up still? * Waitstate exits the lift, but doesn't go in to the launch bay yet * Moonstone chirps shortly at Ruse. Powerplay? Is this program available for use on the terminal in my quarters? It's too addictive and I'm outta of credit :) [comm] No, the Autobots had it repaired, thinking I would be returning to them * Gearwheel begin to clean the disorder! Sure, just let me check out back for it. What is it anyway? * Roadkill waits for Waitstate. Surprise surprise. [comm to Hyp] Can it wait a few hours? I'd really like to look in to this a little first [comm to Hyp] and I'm about to leave the ship for a while [comm] I suppose it will have to [comm to Hyp] I have no problems with it, so tell her she can set up the equipment. Just don't actually start yet, ok? 'Gun Blazers Gladiators' [comm] Understood * Hitchhike picks up a small item and turns to Snake-Eyes Whats this? [comm to Hyp] Good. Thanks. I'll give it my full attention when I get back, I promise * Waitstate enters the launch bay Sorry all, I got sidetracked on the way down Hi, Waitstate! Perhaps you should take a look at the ship's map Alrighty then. I'll be a minute or two. *goes to store room and looks around* * Ruse holds up a crude hand drawing I'll sell you one for 3 creds It's a charm. It's culture of origin believed that if they carried the face of their god of good nature, they'd forever be happy Sidetracked? we were starting to think you'd been kidnapped or something. ;) Did it work? Heh, so they say :) fuuunny I thought so. ;) Anyway, *gestures to shuttle* Shall we proceed? * Hyperion returns to medbay are you all ready? *moves toward one of the large shuttles* * Sunspot gets on the shuttle. * Powerplay returns from the store room with a small box I'll take it :) I'm trying to get Cuffs to relax a bit, he's too much of a crank case, heh. Hopefully this will make working with him a bit easier * Ruse follows Sunspot Found it * Snake-Eyes boxes it for Hitchhike * Goannis moves over to the counter where Powerplay is * Roadkill boards the shuttle and takes the pilot seat * Waitstate notifies the bridge that we're ready to proceed How much? * Admiral-Lilwall opens the bay doors 3 creds * Roadkill pilots the shuttle towards the waiting salvage ship How much? :) * Hitchhike pays and exits the store with the item * Gearwheel finish the cleanwork and retreats to the cargo decks 20 creds should do * Hyperion enters Restore's office again * Roadkill flies the shuttle into the salvage ship's waiting launch bay and does all the shuttle shutdown stuff * Goannis pays for the game with her tab card Thanks :) Heh, that was quick :) Waitstate approves, but doesn't want it to happen just yet. Seems he is going off ship for a short while Not a problem * Lifeblood gives up on finding an answer anywhere in the stellar patterns of the immediate universe, and heads off to his quarters. * Roadkill opens the shuttle door and shoos everyone out. * Sunspot gets off the shuttle and stops to look around. * Waitstate gets out Alright then, I'll set things up for the proceedure. Just let me know when the boss bot is ready:) * Switchbox vacates the launch bay, and wonders where everyone is. * Scrapsaver walks up to the shuttle group * Goannis takes the game and walks quickly back to her quarters* Welcome aboard, all. Will do Thanks Captain. I appreciate your help in this matter * Hyperion leaves for his quarters *shrugs* Just repaying a favor. You know that. *grins wryly* So, Waitstate, I assume you'll want to see.... Yes, well... let's not mention that in unsecure conversation, heh ;) True. My apologies. heh, no problem So is there anything specific you'd like me to concentrate on looking for, Waitstate? * Scrapsaver waits for Waitstate to shoo off the rest of his crew. *to Sunspot* not really. As I said, I'm here for other business mainly. You're the engineer *shrug* * Sunspot nods. * Roadkill just hangs around in the backgruond * Sunspot wanders off to find a nice junk pile somewhere. * Chameleon leaves his quarters and walks about * Roadkill walks up quietly behind Waitstate * Ruse goes off to look at shiney salvage bits too Now that we're alone... I guess you might as well show us * Scrapsaver glances at Roadkill, then back at Waitstate * Sunspot finds a nice big junkpile in another part of the ship and starts picking away at it. * Moonstone jumps off Sunspot's shoulder and starts looking through the junk, too. Roadkill is ok. [comm to bridge] Can I sit up there on the bridge with you lot, doing nothing too? *nods* Okay then. Follow me. Great stuff, really * Ruse runs off * Waitstate goes with Scrapsaver [comm] Who said we're doing nothing? [comm] Just an assumption * Sunspot makes a little pile of her own with all the promising-looking bits. * Roadkill follows Wait and Scrappy, looking around curiously. * Scrapsaver leads the two to a small workroom and pauses in front of the door. You might have guessed by now, but it's not good news. I didn't imagine it was [comm] if you want to come in here, you'll have to make yourself useful [comm] Of course I can do that, I'm a spy. Spies are always useful! [comm] You could always annoy Scamp or something [comm] Well, the ops station is unoccupied at the moment *nods slightly and opens the door* All right. We found all this in the Selva-V quadrant about two days ago now. [comm] Sounds better than the nothing that I'm doing at the moment * inside, arranged on the floor, are charred broken portions of debris in matte-black and laser-burn ash black. Individually, the pieces are unrecogniseable as anyone familiar... * ...but the way the debris is arranged indicates--quite highly--Slipstream's alt-mode construct There... more here than I expected... Originally, we only picked up the larger pieces, but after you contacted us, we went back and searched the area for the rest. * Chameleon appears outside the bridge * Roadkill just kneels beside one of the larger wing pieces and brushes off some of the ash, uncovering a barely-visible, familiar silver symbol. It does seem to be her... but I dont want to be hasty. Any sign of robot mode parts? *points at the barely visible symbol and says in a flat emotionless voice* Evidence enough for you, Wait? I know 'killer... but I have to be sure * Admiral-Lilwall opens the bridge door for cham There are a few, mainly in the larger chunks of the nose cone and parts of the fuselage where the wings attach * Chameleon walks in and sits at the empty station You can have a closer look if you want. Morbid as that sounds. anything that can't be mistaken for something else? Like hands? Or... *not wanting to say it* a head? Well... there was this.... So, what's new around here? * Waitstate waits for Scrapsaver *turns over a portion of debris* Welded to the inside of this paneling, probably from the heat of whatever caused this destruction, was something that looked...out of place for an alt-mode. What is it? *takes a closer look* * Moonstone jumps out of the hole he's dug and chirps loudly. * Scrapsaver shows the underpiece. Inside, welded at an odd angle, is a portion of badly charred and melted upper-right cranium, with the bottom outlined slightly as if to house the top of an optic * Waitstate steps back, and looks defeated * Sunspot looks up. I'd like to take this back to my ship *nods slightly* Of course. Hey, what's up? * Sunspot stands up and goes to where Moonstone was digging. I appreciate this Scrapsaver. I think I owe -you- one now I don't see how me giving you such obviously bad news would constitute you owing me one, but hey. whatever works. * Sunspot looks down into the hole to see a beaten but still mostly intact face looking back at her. Eek! * Sunspot steps back, loses her footing on some loose junk, and slides halfway down the pile. heh, ever the mercenary, eh? Some things never change, heh. The shuttle is open, if you could get some of your men to load this up for us * Roadkill is still kneeling next to the debris, head bowed *shrugs wryly* after you pick up as many bodies as we do, you get kind of used to it after a while... * Sunspot climbs back up the pile and begins digging out around the hole. *shakes his head* I'm glad I'm not in your line of work, friend And yeah, I'll get some of my men to cart this stuff over. * Moonstone tries to help dig, too. *wry* It takes all kinds, doesn't it? that it does I will, of course, pay whatever's fair for anything my engineer pics up Moonstone, could you tell this was down here? * Sunspot gets no answer from the little dragon. No need for that. We're starting to run out of space in the ship lately. anything she takes probably won't be missed. He's not damaged that bad at all... You think...? Well, if you insist. Mind you, I'm gonna hold you to that. heh *chuckles* And knowing my luck, you'll find something that's actually worth something. * Sunspot clears away the rubbish until she can see most of the robot's body. Well, I'm sure whatever you contact me for next time will more than make up for it, heh. Quite probably. * Sunspot notices a big blast hole in the robot's chest. * Waitstate remembers he isn't alone... Hmm... It looks like whoever did this wasn't messing around... Geez, sorry about that Roadkill... I don't always think about appropriate behavior at times like this... * Sunspot does a quick check for vital signs, just to be sure. ... I'm having her brought back to the ship. We can take care of whatever funeral arrangements she would have wanted... * Roadkill doesn't respond, just glances up at Waitstate, then back at the debris * Sunspot half-runs, half-slides down the junk pile and out the door back to the shuttle bay. Waitstate! * Waitstate turns from RK toward Sunspot * Sunspot runs to where Waitstate is and looks up at him. We were digging and there was this face, and I dug out around it and there was a whole body there, and he's in stasis lock but he's ALIVE! Um, Sunspot... Can I keep him? sure, whatever... now isn't the best time Sunspot * Scrapsaver just looks at Sunny oddly for a moment. But he's too big to get him out myself... * Sunspot gestures with her arms in the universal sign of "big". Scrap, can you send someone to help Sunspot, please? * Sunspot looks over at Roadkill. What's going on? * Roadkill hasn't acknowledged Sunny's presence yet, then suddenly gets up and quickly leaves the room * Waitstate sighs and slumps down Waitstate? What's going on? * Waitstate gets up and points Sunspot in the direction of the Slip parts Oh... *quietly to Waitstate* I'll send some of my guys in to start the collection process here, and I'll go have a look at whatever it is your engineer's found... I didn't know that's what we were here about... * to Scrapsaver* thank you, thank you very much *to Sunspot* I didn't want to say anything till we knew for sure. It could have been a false alarm *quiet to Waitstate* Not a problem. *leaves the room* I thought...we were just... * Sunspot looks around. I left Moonstone back at the junkpile... I need to get Moonstone... If it had been a false alarm, no one would have needed to know * Sunspot nods. But it wasn't, then. I still want Restore to go over it, but I don't think so I...I need to get Moonstone. He's gonna worry about me... * Waitstate nods * Sunspot goes to try to find her way back to the place where she found the robot. * Roadkill arrives back at the shuttle, drops down in the pilot's chair, and rests his head on the console * Scrapsaver and a couple of other guys are in the process of hauling out the body Sunny found, with Moonstone watching nearby * Sunspot climbs back up the pile. * Sunspot picks up Moonstone and hugs him tight. * Some of the other salvage team come in to the small work room and start shifting the debris to the shuttle. * Waitstate goes off looking for RK * Waitstate sees the light on in the shuttle cabin and goes inside There you are... * Roadkill glances up at Waitstate * Sunspot watches the workers haul out the body, noticing an Autobot symbol she hadn't noticed before on him. *to Sunny* Hm, we must have missed the fact that this guy was still alive... it's a good thing you found him. * Waitstate sits * Roadkill sighs I've never been very good at dealing with this sort of thing. He seems to only barely be. I'm sure it wasn't hard to overlook. Y'seem t'be dealing better than me... *rests his head back on his arms on the console* But the medical staff back on our ship might be able to get him up and running again. I hope... * Sunspot pets Moonstone and sighs. At the moment, sure. It usually takes about a week for reality to set in for me with stuff like this. I just... don't know how to react to it. As do I. We see enough corpses in our line of work, it would be good to think we actually managed to save one. *chuckles bitterly* I envy your reality delay. It's sort of a numb feeling really... * Sunspot manages a weak smile. "I was saved by a salvage team myself once..." heh, despite the bad 'vulture' rep we tend to have, we're not all that bad. Hellstars, I wish I could just go numb at the moment... it's so hard to believe, but the evidence was right there.... * Roadkill shudders slightly and leans back in his chair, staring at the ceiling I pay for it. It either hits me all at once eventually, or it leaks out over time. Usually a little of both I guess. I never really met the ones who picked me up, though. They just gave me right back to the Autobots. In the mean time, I guess I'm there for people. Someone has to take care of the dirty work, dont they? *nods* That's fairly standard procedure. We try to avoid being aligned with either faction. Heh, true... you feel like openin' the Neutral Ground when we get back to the ship? I could use something mindnumbing, I think... That's generally SOP, yeah. Probably a safe idea. Not that that keep us out of trouble... once the news gets out, I'm sure it'll fill up, to be honest. *chuckles dryly* Or keeps trouble from finding you, right? Heh, Slip would be flattered... disbelieving, but flattered. At least with the Autobots all you have is 'Cons to worry about. True, to an extent. you up to helping me out with her funeral arrangements? I'm embarassed to say I don't know what she'd want. Was she religious? I know we have at least a couple followers of Primus on board. Most keep that sort of thing to themselves though *sighs* Get me drunk first, I think. Really drunk. And no, she wasn't religious. Tended to laugh at it too much. heh, sounds like her. makes things easier I guess. I wouldn't know the proper ceremonies or where to find them she never was one for ceremony... *sighs and shakes his head.* It's too hard to think about right now. here I am going on about this stuff again... I am sorry. no, no need to apologise... I'm sure I come off like an unfeeling bastard... please, if you need to talk, I can be there. It keeps me distracted, if nothing else * the salvage workers finish loading everything onto the shuttle, including the body Sunny found* * Sunspot heads back to the shuttle. *comes up behind Wait in the shuttle cockpit* Everything's loaded, grey one. * Waitstate laughs lightly at the nickname Thanks old friend. You know how to reach me if you need a favor again. I certainly owe you it. Any time. I assume you'll be wanting to get back now? yes, it's probably a good idea. We can stay in the area if you'd like, but otherwise I suppose we're done * Sunspot hangs around just outside the shuttle waiting for it to seem like a good time to board. That's up to you. I'll take my leave now, paperwork and all. You know how it is. *nods farewell to Wait and leaves the shuttle, passing Sunny and giving her a smile on the way* * Waitstate nods knowingly and watches him go * Sunspot waves a little to Scrapsaver. * Sunspot sticks her head in the doorway. Time to go? Yup. Time to go get drunk as hell. Unless you have more you want to look through, yeah No, I'm ready to go. * Sunspot gets on board and takes a nice window seat. * Ruse is already on board the shuttle somewhere RK, why don't you let me take the controls *nods and moves* That might be a good idea. * Waitstate swaps seats [comm to Freedom] We're on our way back. Make sure you're ready for us * Roadkill slumps down in the copilot seat [comm] Acknowledged, launch bay is warmed up * Sunspot hugs Moonstone some more. * Sunspot yawns and curls up and goes to sleep. * Waitstate takes off and heads home...
