* Restore regains some form of consciousness 
<Waitstate> in a few minutes we should be able to say hi to this mystery
<Restore> Meteor?  What's going on? *winces in pain*
* Shadowstrike has an uneasy feeling about this femme bot.
* Stardrive repairs his broken emmittor... someone must have sat on it.
* Recoil jumps as a terminal he's examining comes to life
<Meteor> This 'virus' thing is getting worse in everyone, the bridge has reported some crew are down in their quarters unable to move
<Recoil> I swear I didn't do it!
* LONAC_Emblem appears.
* Waitstate turns around
<Shadowstrike> What the...?
<Waitstate> I think I may have done more than deactivate a stasis lock...
* Waitstate looks around as more terminals power up. Finally, the room lights flicker on
* Spiderbot scuttles around in circles on the ground wondering what's happening 
<Diablo> reactivated the ship maybe?
<Restore> Slag...I have to do something..
<Dead_Lift> And then there was light...
* LONAC_Emblem floats around the bridge.
<Waitstate> no... look, the hallway is still dark
<Shadowstrike> Well, this is preferable to the gloom. at least in HERE.
<Meteor> Not a chance, you're not in the best of shape
<Stardrive> Ah... it works.
<Opal> parts of the ship down there have been activated
<Dead_Lift> Auxilary power...
* A computerized female voice is heard 
<computer> Stasis lock released. Activating phase one revival
<Opal> and it looks like Artifice has stalled... I guess that means you're in charge till Wait gets back Stardrive?
* Dead_Lift turns his cannon towards the stasis chamber
<Waitstate> I think whoever put her there was anticipating something like this...
<Dead_Lift> Let's just hope she's not cranky.
<Shadowstrike> They knew they were dying, you mean?
<Chameleon> maybe this is some sort of trap?
<Waitstate> More like they knew someone would be reviving her in the future
<Waitstate> or hoped so maybe
<Shadowstrike> Unusual, to say the least.
<computer> Initiating Phase 2 revival
* Stardrive gives Trilana the comm station.
* A large assembly extends from the ceiling, bringing down part of the ceiling with it
<Waitstate> look out!
* Waitstate jumps out of the way
* Shadowstrike presses back against the wall and out of the way
* Dead_Lift dives
* Diablo and Cham run to the other side of the room
<Stardrive> [comm] What in the galaxy are you doing over there there?
* Spiderbot just gets away in time 
<Stardrive> Report... what kind of readings are we getting?
* Dead_Lift gets up
<Dead_Lift> Was that supposed to be some sort of trap?
* The stasis chamber cover opens up, though still hiding the occupant inside. The assembly extends arms into the chamber and begins doing unknown work
<Opal> just the extra power activity so far
<Shadowstrike> No, DL
<Waitstate> I don't think so. This ship has been here for hundreds of years
* Stardrive looks over Opal's shoulder at the console.
<Waitstate> And I don't think it was in exactly perfect condition when it got here...
<Dead_Lift> This place is making me paranoid
<Shadowstrike> Probably *not*
* Stardrive sits down.
<computer> Phase 2 complete. Beginning final phase 
<Shadowstrike> Well, here we go.
* Spiderbot wanders back over near the stasis chamber 
* The light in the chamber abruptly intensifies, and a number of terminals in the room go into frenzied action
<Waitstate> I THINK we're about to meet our mystery guest...
* Spiderbot hurries back to Diablo, and goes inside his arm 
<voice> *groan*
* Shadowstrike holds her sword at the ready.
* Diablo has cannons ready
* Dead_Lift nods
* A figure slowly pulls herself up from inside the chamber. She's female, but not overtly so. 
<female> Augh... Arc, remind me never to do that again...
* The strange female looks around
* Junky_LaFord idly sweeps the floor in engineering
<female> Who are you people? Where is Arc??
* Shadowstrike glares at the femme.
* She starts to get up, then falls back down, dizzy
* Spiderbot pops back out, takes a look, and climbs to the ceiling 
<Waitstate> I'm afraid we didnt meet this 'Arc'. Everyone was dead...
* Diablo unarms his cannons
* The new femme slumps down
<Female> No... then they didn't finish it...
<Shadowstrike> Finish *what*?
* She pulls herslef out of the chamber fully
* Chameleon gets stuck half in and half out of chameleon mode
<Dead_Lift> Who is Arc?
* The attending LONAC members see a large bot with what looks to be a piledriver for a left arm. She is a tan color, and has a great deal of chromed metal parts
* Spiderbot jumps onto Cham's head and takes a rest 
<female> Arc was my friend, and the head of the group of scientists on this ship
* Dead_Lift offers his hand to the femme bot
<Dead_Lift> Let me help you up.
<Femme> no, wait! You've gotta get off of this planet! It may already be too late!
<Waitstate> If you mean because of the disease that killed this planet, and likely your friend, it's already far too late
<Stardrive> Any change in readings?
<female> You mean... you all have it?
* Waitstate holds up his now totally locked up left arm
<Waitstate> for some time now, actually
<Shadowstrike> *sharply* What exactly didn't they "finish"?
<Opal> yes, I'm detecting another bot down there with them
 * The female looks at the purple femmbot, startled
<Dead_Lift> Too late? What are you talking about?
* Shadowstrike stares back very coldly.
<female> The cure. They were working on a cure.
* Chameleon lifts the spiderbot off his head and passes him to Diablo. "Have him back"
<Stardrive> What?
<Opal> I'm guessing that new lady down there doesn't know this virus thing has spread across half the galaxy then
<Stardrive> Please keep me informed if anything else unusual occurs.
<Waitstate> You'll have to show us their progress if you can. We need all the help we can get
<Dead_Lift> My bet would be a cure, Shadowstrike.
* Diablo puts Spiderbot back in his arm compartment. "How far into completeing the cure were you?"
<fem> They had some of it worked out... I'm the result actually
<Diablo> I see
<fem> I was built after the original outbreak. They were able to design me to be... immune
<Chameleon> you wouldn't mind giving us your name would ya?
<Waitstate> huh? oh... Terrafirma. It's from some old organic language Arc was fond of
<Terra> Arc... was... *grief* Oh Primus, they're all dead! 
<Dead_Lift> I think it's only fair we introduce ourselves as well.
<Waitstate> So are a great many others I'm afraid. And more will if we don't hurry
<Terra> Wait... you mean you aren't the only ones? How many more??
<Shadowstrike> Too many.
<Waitstate> There are over 1000 inhabited worlds. At last count almost a quarter had had some sort of contact with it
<Waitstate> Many were populated by organics... not any longer
<Dead_Lift> Wait till you see what it looks like outside.
<Terra> I'll show you to the main labs
* Terra moves to the door
* Dead_Lift follows Terra
* As Terra steps out into the hallway, the lights in the medbay begin to shut down
* Waitstate hurries to follow Terra, not really wanting to be back in the darkness
* Diablo and Cham follow
* Shadowstrike is the last out of the medbay.
* Diablo turns on headlights
<Dead_Lift> How many were aboard this vessel, Terra?
<Terra> The labs are just down the hall *steps over a fallen girder* This place really took a beating didnt it?
* Junky_LaFord frowns in dismay as his left arm falls off... been quite a while since that happened last...
<Terra> 15, counting me
* The lights in the labs come to life as Terra nears 
<computer> Warning: Non-Decepticon energy signatures detected. Initiating security lockout
<Opal> very strange. parts of the ship shut down when they move away from them, and switch on when they go near them
* A forcefield tries its very best to snap into place over teh lab doors, but fails miserably
<Dead_Lift> Terra, override the system!
<Dead_Lift> ah, nevermind
<Terra> I can't... I didn't even realize it would do that!
<Stardrive> Unusual, but not unheard of.
<Waitstate> well, looks like we lucked out on that one
<Shadowstrike> It can be... disabled. But it would appear that is unnecessary. I'm familiar with ships such as this, of course.
<Terra> It must have been a holdover from the early days, and was never removed. Never necessary I guess, even if we had seperated from the Empire
* Waitstate walks over to a terminal
* Shadowstrike mutters something that can't quite be heard "...familiar...this one...too." and glowers at the femme.
<Waitstate> damn... the forcefield may have failed, but the computers have a lockout
* Waitstate pulls out a connector cable
<Waitstate> Nothing I can't work around though *evil grin*
<Shadowstrike> The old systems were relatively easy to override.
* Waitstate runs a few standard algorithms
* Diablo lets Spiderbot loose to have a look around
<Waitstate> disabled... geez, the stupid passwords some people use
* Waitstate inserts Overwrite into a disk slot
<Waitstate> This one work?
<Overwrite> yes, seems to
* Shadowstrike leans against a wall and crosses her arms across her front.
<Waitstate> commence download then.
<Overwrite> There is a great deal of system damage. I do wish you had brought Bit. He's much better at this than I am.
<Waitstate> Bit is sick. Deal with it.
<Overwrite> Very well...
* Waitstate turns to Terra
<Waitstate> So this was a Decepticon ship then?
* Dead_Lift approaches Shadowstrike
* Spiderbot scuttles along the ground and bumps into Wait 
<Dead_Lift> *under breath* is there a problem?
<Terra> At one time, yes. Technically it never stopped being so. It just stopped mattering.
<Shadowstrike> *quietly to DL* you're not old enough to remember, or understand.
<Dead_Lift> hehe I'm older than you might think.
* Dead_Lift returns to Wait's side
<Terra> It was long ago- Are you Autobots or Decepticons?
<Waitstate> That's... complicated
<Terra> Complicated?
<Waitstate> You want the short answer or the long?
<Terra> Umm... short I suppose. For now.
<Waitstate> ok then...
<Waitstate> are we Autobots or Decepticons? 
<Waitstate> No
<Terra> Umm... oookay...
<Terra> I suppose it's safe for me to tell you though
<Terra> It was a very long time ago. Long before I came online for sure. A war had started between the Decepticon Empire and a rebal group called the Autobots. 
<Terra> It was a terrible war, and many were dying. Every time the rebels came up with a new weapon, the Empire would match or top it.
<Terra> I'm glad I didn't live then...
* Shadowstrike clenches her fist.
* Diablo retrieves Spiderbot, and goes into the corridor outside the lab
<Terra> At any rate, the war had gone on for some time, and an Imperial battlecruiser was sent to destroy a group of the Autobot rebels that had established a base on a small moon
<Terra> The captain of the ship had been doubtful of the whole war since its beginning, but when he saw the rebel camp, he crumbled.
* Chameleon sits down against a wall
<Terra> Instead of the military base he had been told of, he found a small encampment of refugees. Unarmed civilan types who couldn't have fought back if they wanted to
* Shadowstrike has her hand clenched around the handle of her sword and viciously twists it into the floor.
<Terra> He refused to destroy them.
<Terra> His own first officer killed him for that. Once she was in command, she destroyed the Autobot camp.
<Terra> The crew, however, was loyal to the captain. Once word got out what had really happened, they mutinied.
<Terra> After that, they knew they could never go back to the Empire. They set the ship's engines to take them outside of known space
* Stardrive watches TV on the main viewscreen.
<Terra> eventually they found a useful planet, so far away that they would never be found
<Terra> They built a colony there, one which thrived without any major conflict for countless decacycles
<Terra> We hadn't had any outside contact in all that time. You're the first I've seen not from my world.
<Terra> You may or may not have guessed it... this ship was that battlecruiser
<Shadowstrike> Some of us already knew that.
* Waitstate looks at Shadowstrike, then back to Terra
<Waitstate> Is this the world your people colonized?
* Chameleon leaves the lab, and stands in the corridor
<Terra> This? No... far from it. Arc and his team were using it as a testing ground for finding a cure. 
<Terra> This ship was the only interstellar-capable we ever had. We used it to travel between our world, this place, and another testing lab they established in a large asteroid.
* Waitstate closes his optics, realizing the signifigance of this and fighting off pointless anger
<Shadowstrike> Was this world infected prior to your "testing"?
<Terra> No. We drew the raw materials from it to test the possible cures. We never intended to infect this world. But when the power failed, the attitude thrusters failed as well, and we began to lose orbit
* Shadowstrike shakes her head.
<Waitstate> I think we encountered that station. It led us here.
<Recoil> I though that place was Autobot built... sure looked it
<Terra> Partly, it was. We had to really scrounge to build it. A few Autobot wrecks were used in its construction from what I'm told. I doubt they cared enough to remove whatever markings may have been on it
* Diablo and Cham return to the lab
<Terra> I wasn't involved in its construction though. I was built later.
* Waitstate turns as the console beeps
<Shadowstrike> How's that going, Wait?
* Waitstate removes Overwrite from the console
<Waitstate> He's done
<Waitstate> Terrafirma, I know this is all fairly rushed, but unless there is more we should try and retrieve, we should leave. Our labs are in much better condition
<Waitstate> Sky, can you prime the shuttle for launch?
<Terra> There's nothing left of value here that won't keep...
* SkySiren grins widely and slips into the pilot's seat prepping the engines
<Waitstate> I hear the shuttle
<Shadowstrike> Let's go.
* Dead_Lift heads for the door
<Waitstate> come on. I don't want to spend another minute in this creepy place
<Stardrive> What's taking them so long...
* Diablo and Cham leave for the shuttle
<Opal> their shuttle is preparing to launch
* Shadowstrike is the last into the shuttle.
* Terra looks like she might have some emotional reaction that could be crying if she wasn't a large robot
* Dead_Lift gets on the shuttle and takes a seat
* SkySiren checks the fuel indictators and runs through preflight checks
* Waitstate takes the command seat
* Shadowstrike seals the hatch.
<Waitstate> take her up as soon as she's ready
<Shadowstrike> Let's get off this forsaken place.
* Diablo and Cham sit near the back of the shuttle
* SkySiren nods as the shuttle begins it's journey off into space
<Opal> they're on their way
<Stardrive> Trilana, hail them.
<Trilana> Channel Open.
<Stardrive> [comm] Wait... please tell me there's good news.
<Waitstate> [to comm] Well, it isn't BAD news. We won't know of good news for sure till we can process this data
<Stardrive> Open the shuttle bay doors, 'pal.  :)
<Waitstate> [to comm] How is Restore doing?
<Opal> doors are open and waiting
<Stardrive> How IS Restore doing?
<Admiral-Lilwall> * Opal shrugs* 
<Stardrive> [comm] I think she's concious, but not jumping through hoops just yet.
<Opal> have no idea. I'm not at the comm station. but I can see AL and Artifice will need attention soon
<Stardrive> I really haven't gotten any updates.
<Waitstate> [to comm] hmm... I hope this new data doesn't get her too worked up...
<Stardrive> Slag.
<Stardrive> [Comm] Stardrive to Medbay.
<Meteor> Now is not a good time
<Cirrus> [to comm] Shuttle, docking bay is ready for your arrival. Welcome back.

* SkySiren guides the shuttle into the bay and gently sets it down
<Meteor> no disrespect Stardrive, but I have little to no medical experience and it's just me working on the crew, slag off unless it's urgent

* Stardrive looks at the ailing 'bots.
<Stardrive> Let's hope whatever they found is enough.
<Opal> I have to go and recharge or I'm not going to make it either. having Crystalline in stasis isn't helping
<Stardrive> Is there anyone left to take your station?
<Opal> I don't see anyone else in here, and I bet most of everyone else is in the medbay
<Stardrive> Go. I'll take it myself.
<Waitstate> Restore is our cheif medical officer. I suppose she could be called the cheif scientist though
<Terra> Oh...
<Terra> Maybe I can help her. I have medical training.
* Stardrive takes over Opal's station.
<Stardrive> At least it's likely to be quiet on this end.
<Waitstate> She'll be glad to hear that. We've been promising her help for months now...
* Shadowstrike gives Wait a very unhappy look.
* Waitstate notices and resolves to ask her about it once they disembark
* Stardrive switches stations with Trilana
<computer> Docking procedure complete. Disembarkation may now proceed.
* Waitstate unstraps
* SkySiren shuts down the ship and unstraps
* Diablo and Cham leave the shuttle

* Waitstate sips

* Spiderbot scuttles along the ground with no idea where it's going 
<Waitstate> I'm impressed. Not many make it that old and stay active the entire time

<Shadowstrike> I was put in charge of a cruiser. Faster and leaner than that mess down on that planet used to be.

* LONAC_Emblem dissappears from the wall in Medbay since nothing's happening there.
<Shadowstrike> Anyway. The fleet wasn't that large back then. Not large at all, in fact, but since the 'Bots had practically nothing at first, it was enough.
* LONAC_Emblem appears on the wall behind Shadow and Wait.
* Waitstate discreetly activates a looped holo-feed into the system
<Shadowstrike> What the femme described is not how I understand how the event progressed. It is possible that what I heard was incorrect. But the end result was the same.
* LONAC_Emblem clears the loop.
<Waitstate> what sort of... inconsistancies?
* LONAC_Emblem disappears from view.
* Waitstate looks up and smirks, the returns his full attention to Shadowstrike
* Spiderbot visits the bridge 
<Shadowstrike> As we understood it, that "civilian" camp was a staging ground for an assault.
* Trilana looks at the spiderbot.
<Waitstate> That's how they apparently understood it too, until they actually got there
<Shadowstrike> I saw recons to that effect, though.
<Waitstate> hm
<Shadowstrike> At any rate, they were the heavyweight cruiser for my sector.
* Shadowstrike stares at her glass.
* Waitstate sits back and waits for her to continue
<Shadowstrike> I think you can probably figure out what happened when the Autobots found out about that battle Terrafirma's cruiser had with the encampment.
<Waitstate> launched an all-out assault, I imagine
<Shadowstrike> And since our battlecruiser had disappeared to Primus knew where... 
<Waitstate> how bad was it?
* Spiderbot rushes back to Diablo's quarters 
<Shadowstrike> They came after my ship. We were never meant to sustain a long term battle, that's why we were assigned the sector with a cruiser.
<Shadowstrike> I lost 2/3 of my crew. My friends. Because they cut and run, and didn't bother to think who was going to suffer for their actions.
<Shadowstrike> By the time the reinforcements got to us, there wasn't much left.
<Waitstate> *quiet* old wounds run deep...
* Shadowstrike falls silent.
<Shadowstrike> so you'll have to excuse me if I don't particularly like being involved with the progeny of those traitors.
* Waitstate finishes his glass
<Shadowstrike> I've said all I have to say.
* Spiderbot enters diablo's quarters 
* Spiderbot recieves a message 
<Waitstate> Don't take it out on Terrafirma. If you couldn't tell, she's very young. In terms of runtime at least. She only knows what she's been taught and wasn't involved in that long ago battle
* Diablo views the message
* Shadowstrike takes a small drink.

* Shadowstrike gets up to leave.
* Diablo punches the door to his quarters, leaves a big dent, and heads for Cham's quarters

<Waitstate> Alright. Think about what I said though. And remember, I'm always ready to listen.

* Shadowstrike turns on her heel and leaves, heading for her quarters.
* A piece of the wall starts moving.

* LONAC_Insignia orbits Wait's head a few times.
* Waitstate polishes his glass

<LONAC_Insignia> I think Trilana and I are still only minimally affected because of the Verellian component of our technology.  But we're going, slowly but surely.

<LONAC_Insignia> Junky's falling apart. Nothing new to him, but it hasn't happened since he constructed that new body.
* Shadowstrike reaches her quarters and throws herself on her bunk, very agitated.
* Chameleon notices diablo entering his quarters
<Waitstate> How's Meteor? He seems to be almost totally unaffected so far

<LONAC_Insignia> Well, he's not happy.
<LONAC_Insignia> I tried to get an update on Restore but "slag off" was the best response I could get.

* Waitstate finishes off his second glass, then reseals the decanter

<Waitstate> I could use a good recharge cycle myself
<LONAC_Insignia> Not easy for a powermaster to be without the power....

<Waitstate> At least we got Crystalline into stasis. Death of one partner can be pretty bad for the other, from what I've heard
