Worked as a dancer and singer in a nightclub on the Nelvada colony. Due to the nature of the nightclub, her employer had her get a paint job to fit. So she based her new colours on her name. Her then Powermaster partner, Crystalline, became seriously ill, and LONAC saved her life while they were visiting the planet. Grateful for this, both Opal and Crystalline decided to join LONAC. A few years later, Crystalline was killed during a mission. Losing her closest friend, Opal is not quite the person she was before. She is still quite friendly and even a flirt, although to a lesser extent than before, but now she also keeps to herself a little more. She is one of the few Cybertronians whose singing ability is genuine, and not an added parameter on her vocal processor. She loves music and not only sings, but writes and performs her own music also. She a very likable person to know, but there are some who disagree. Plans to one day rejoin her fellow bandmembers, the Gemstones.

When Opal joined LONAC, she was given a pair of arm mounted laser rifles, and two heat seeker missiles. Since the death of Crystalline, she has returned them, and dropped out of reserve infantry status. In her jet form, she can reach a top speed of mach 1. Opal isn't terribly strong, but learned to defend herself from some of the more unsavory members of the Nelvada colony. She learnt to use hand to hand combat techniques, using the weight of her opponent against them to give her time to escape.

No longer a Powermaster, Opal's strength, speed and endurance potential has decreased. Opal mourns the loss of Crystalline almost everyday, but puts on a brave face for when she's not alone. She isn't terribly strong or agile, and can't hold up against much firepower.
