Chapter 12

Aries and Takedown rammed into Toom and Hitatron with magnificent force. All of them stopped dead in their tracks.

“Umm” Patchwork said, unsure of what to do. With a shrug he started shooting wildly at Toom and Hitatron, allowing Aries and Takedown to gain some ground.

“Aaaah!” Toom shouted as he transformed into robot mode. Hitatron then transformed into a powerful hand weapon and flew into Toom’s hand.

“Perhaps now would be a good time to leave” Patchwork suggested.

Aries and Takedown transformed back into their robot modes and leapt at Toom. They each grabbed onto one of his arms, but Toom quickly threw them off.

“Spectral Death may build them stupid but they sure build them strong!” Aries remarked as he rubbed his head.

Patchwork fired a single blast and Toom’s hand knocking Hitatron to the ground. Patchwork kicked Toom in the midsection, but there was no affect. He was stunned long enough for Toom to grab his leg and throw him at the others. He picked up Hitatron and held him at the LONAC trio.

His simple thoughts were interrupted as Drill Master came crashing through the side of a wall.

“Not so fast!” Diamond Fire shouted from behind as she rode in on Amethyst in vehicle mode. She jumped off and transformed into her light-attack tank mode and fired shrapnel shells at Toom.

Toom was fazed momentarily. He quickly collected himself then picked up Diamond Fire and slammed her to the floor.

“OoooOooH” Diamond Fire moaned as she collected herself.

“Nice try Diamond Fire” Amethyst commented as she transformed to robot mode. She held her pistols at Toom and opened up a comm link. “We’re going to need a bit more back up.”

Toom fired a shot at Amethyst. She moved to the side but the blast still grazed her arm. She fired with her other arm and was able to knock Toom to the ground.

“Looks like they’re wearing down” Takedown commented.

“Yeah, well we still need to drag them off of the ship” Patchwork replied.

Toom slowly got up. Hitatron flew into the air and transformed back into his robot mode. The two Spectral Death members looked around. It seemed that they had no escape as they had wasted most of their energy breaking through the security barriers. Drill Master quickly did his best to restrain him.

“We’ve got them contained” Aries replied over his comm unit.

“Great, Waitstate, Recoil, and I will be right there” Cuffs replied.

Toom quickly transformed back into tank mode while the others were momentarily distracted. He shrugged Drill Master off and charged back in the direction he came, with Hitatron in close pursuit.

“They’re getting away!” Amethyst shouted as she transformed into cycle mode.

Just as she was about to catch up to them however, they built a barrier using pieces of the doors they crashed through. Amethyst fell sideways and crashed into the barrier.

Drill Master drove up behind her. “What a horrid mess, almost as bad as Waitstate’s quarters. Nothing I can’t clean up.” Drill Master began drilling through the debris.

A few moments passed. Waitstate and Cuffs greeted Toom and Hitatron in their alternate modes as Recoil fired a few warning shots.

“Sorry guys, it’s the end of the road!” Recoil replied proudly.

Toom and Hitatron looked around frantically. They were too weak and the docking bay was too far from them to reach in time. Recoil, Waitstate, and Cuffs approached them.

As if by some form of sorcery, which it most certainly was, they fizzed out like the reception on a bad television set just before Cuffs could arrest them.

“Somehow, I expected a little more of a fight” Recoil commented.

“Well that was fun,” Waitstate said as he transformed back into his robot mode. “Now we can get back to the real issue at hand.”

“That’s two problems out of our way, but our security fields are still down” Cuffs reported. “Otherwise, aside from a few doors we didn’t suffer any major damage.”

“Great, then there’s nothing standing in our way” Waitstate replied.

Cuffs smirked. “Just to be on the safe side, this time I’m going to run a full security sweep.”
